Job Description

Job Summary:We are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Strategic Urban Planner to join our clients dynamic team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in urban planning, strategy development, and urban policy with a focus on sustainable, long-term urban development. This role requires a deep understanding of regional and global planning trends, as well as the unique urban challenges and opportunities in Abu Dhabi and the Middle East.Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of strategic urban plans, policies, and frameworks for sustainable city growth and development.
  • Analyze and interpret urban trends, demographic changes, and environmental data to inform urban development strategies.
  • Collaborate with government authorities, developers, and stakeholders to guide the implementation of urban plans that align with Abu Dhabi's vision for future growth.
  • Provide expert guidance on land use, transportation, housing, infrastructure, and environmental sustainability.
  • Prepare detailed reports, policy recommendations, and presentations for senior management and public stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement strategies that foster smart city initiatives, resilient infrastructure, and sustainable urban growth.
  • Conduct scenario planning and risk assessments to anticipate and mitigate potential urban development challenges.
  • Promote public engagement and participatory planning processes to ensure community needs are reflected in development plans.
  • Keep abreast of local, regional, and international planning legislation, policies, and best practices.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Geography, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 25+ years of experience in strategic urban planning, with a proven track record in large-scale urban development projects.
  • Strong understanding of urban planning principles, local regulatory frameworks, and zoning laws in the UAE.
  • Experience working on projects involving land use planning, urban policy, transportation planning, and infrastructure.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in planning and design software such as GIS, AutoCAD, and relevant data analysis tools.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
