The position holder will report to the Director of the Global Support Center and will assist the Director in strategic planning and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders, particularly government entities, to support the effectiveness and efficiency of the Global Supply Chain Support Center's operations.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
Support the Director of Global Supply Chain Support Center with internal and external communications, ensuring high standards of relevance, appropriateness, correctness, and timeliness.
Contribute to the development of strong relationships with key government officials, decision-makers, civil society, academia and relevant ministries in Dubai and across the UAE in support of the Global Supply Chain Support Center.
Act as primary point of contact between the agency and government entities for effective communication and collaboration.
Analyze government policies and initiatives related to international aid and food security to to identify opportunities for collaboration, partnership, and resource mobilization.
Attend conferences, forums, and events to increase WFP's visibility and influencewithin the government and broader stakeholder community.
Prepare agenda items and coordinate the review of strategic documents, talking points, and briefs to ensure the Director is well-informed for all engagements.Maintain relationships with counterparts in other UN and (I)NGO agenciesfor strategic information sharing and coordination.
Undertake special assignments as requested contributing to the overall success of the office.
Position requirements:
University degree in International relations, Foreign Affairs, Political-Social sciences, Diplomatic studies, Economics, or a related field.
Bilingual, proficiency in Arabic and English.
Driven and motivated by WFP's mandate, showcasing a commitment to humanitarian goals. Strong work ethic, and genuine willingness to contribute to advancing global food security.
Readiness to travel to locations where WFP operates.
Minimum of 1-year post-graduate experience, ideally in the government, public or non-for-profit sector position.
Excellent people skills, a proven team approach.
The ability to thrive in multicultural environments, and a curious mindset geared towards analytical thinking and innovation.
Track record of achieving tangible and measurable results in previous roles with an ability to set and meet ambitious targets aligned with organizational objectives.
