The Storekeeper is responsible for managing inventory, maintaining stock levels, receiving and issuing materials, and ensuring the safe storage of goods. The role involves keeping accurate records of stock movements, maintaining a well-organized warehouse, and coordinating with different departments to ensure smooth operations. Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and update stock reports regularly. Conduct periodic stock checks and physical verification of inventory. Ensure stock is stored properly to prevent damage, spoilage, or loss. Receiving & Inspection: Receive materials, tools, and equipment from suppliers and verify the quantity and quality against purchase orders. Inspect goods for damages, defects, or discrepancies and report any issues to the relevant department. Label and store materials appropriately in designated locations. Issuing & Dispatching: Issue materials and equipment as per requisition requests. Ensure proper documentation and approval before releasing stock. Coordinate with logistics for the timely dispatch of materials to project sites or other departments. Warehouse Organization & Safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe storage area. Follow proper handling procedures for fragile, hazardous, or perishable goods. Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and company policies. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain records of stock movements, purchase receipts, and issuance of materials. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly stock reports for management. Assist in audits and stock reconciliation as needed. Coordination & Communication: Work closely with procurement, accounts, and project teams to ensure smooth inventory flow. Communicate any stock shortages or overstock situations to management for timely action. Liaise with suppliers for returns, replacements, or reorders if necessary. Required Skills & Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field is a plus). Minimum 5 years of experience in inventory management, warehousing, or a similar role. Knowledge of stock management systems and inventory software. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to lift and move heavy items if required. Basic computer skills (MS Excel, inventory software, ERP systems). Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Preferred Experience:
Previous experience in [Industry, e.g., construction or manufacturing] is an advantage. Familiarity with procurement and supply chain processes. Work Environment & Conditions:
