:The Storekeeper is responsible for the efficient management of the construction warehouse and inventory. This includes receiving, storing, issuing, and maintaining supplies, tools, and equipment used on construction sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, experience with inventory management, and the ability to maintain accurate records of all transactions.Key Responsibilities:Inventory Management
Maintain accurate inventory records, including receiving, storing, and issuing materials, tools, and equipment.
Conduct regular stock counts and report discrepancies to management.
Replenish stock as necessary, placing orders for materials and supplies to avoid shortages.
Receiving and Inspection
Receive deliveries, verify the quantity and quality of materials, and inspect for damages.
Ensure all deliveries are recorded accurately and that discrepancies or damaged items are reported and returned.
Maintain organized storage areas, labeling items clearly and keeping them in designated locations.
Issuing and Tracking Supplies
Issue materials, tools, and equipment to construction personnel as requested.
Track the movement of inventory items to ensure accountability and minimize loss or theft.
Maintain accurate records of all transactions, including issues, returns, and transfers.
Warehouse Maintenance
Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and safe at all times.
Ensure all materials are stored in compliance with safety regulations and standards.
Regularly check and maintain tools and equipment for any damage or wear.
Reporting and Documentation
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports for management review.
Document any incidents, discrepancies, or issues related to inventory or supplies.
Assist in preparing for audits by ensuring all records and documentation are up-to-date and accurate.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in supply chain management or a related field is a plus.
3+ years of experience as a Storekeeper, Warehouse Manager, or similar role, preferably in the construction industry.
Knowledge of inventory management software and basic computer skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent record-keeping and reporting abilities.
Familiarity with construction materials, tools, and equipment is an advantage.
Ability to lift and carry heavy items as required and operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts) if needed.
