dnata Airport Operations vast ground handling operations successfully service the major global hub that is Dubai International Airport. We deliver a seamless experience from check-in to baggage delivery for more than 80 million passenger and 140 scheduled airlines annually.As a Standards and Procedures Manager, you will lead, manage and maintain dnata's global Standards & Procedures for all operational and customer service delivery processes across ground handling and cargo; as technical writer and author you will ensure all controlled documentation is in compliance with the dnata operational framework, is reflective of changing business requirements, and in full compliance with regulatory bodies where applicable.In this role, you will
  • Be responsible for producing dnata ground & cargo operations and procedures manuals by consulting with internal and external stakeholders across dnata businesses and external regulatory institutions.
  • Author, manage and oversee documentation of all dnata processes and all procedures manuals, and ensure they are in compliance with the Quality Management Framework, and in compliance with regulatory bodies. This includes version control, review, distribution, and removal of obsolete documentation.
  • Manage and develop the standards & procedures global champions/control group teams to meet regulatory requirements, and improve processes based on operational inputs. Coordinate, alongside the Global Training team, training content to ensure all ground operations staff remain compliant in accordance with procedures and regulations.
  • Represent dnata at appropriate international, national and industry events to influence policy formulation, thereby elevating the company's position.
  • Develop and introduce initiatives that will streamline and continuously improve ground and cargo operations standards & procedures. Drive innovative solutions through team creativity and ensure a collaborative approach with other dnata business units within Airport Operations, including use of all dnata mandated technological solutions.
  • Implement, utilise and maintain an online knowledge-based system that would effectively move hard - copy manuals into a user-friendly, highly interactive online/offline model that provides information to the established target group as/when required.
  • Keep abreast of emerging regulations and trends, influence standards, design improvements to internal control structures and define critical metrics to minimise the impact of changing regulations. Consult with industry bodies and government officials to negotiate the interpretation, application and administrative feasibility of proposed security, customs and dangerous goods legislation and regulatory amendments.
  • Formulate and recommend policies for dnata in specialised areas to establish a common approach and regulatory compliance. Advise and make recommendations for corrective action to operational audit events, including improvement opportunities and new preventative measures.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance Manager dnata to define the critical processes that need to be audited and define the relevant KPIs and measures that will improve practices across dnata.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to keep up-to-date with corporate initiatives and take the lead in sharing learnings, maintaining networks, and exchanging information regarding cost saving strategies/operational efficiencies being deployed within dnata. Involve external and internal support functions (finance, HR, safety etc.) in plans and strategies to ensure effective implementation and ongoing management of the agreed activities.
To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years experience in Airport Operations
  • Practical and in depth experience of airport, passenger, aircraft and cargo handling procedures and operations
  • Excellent command of written English
  • Detailed knowledge of IATA Ground Operations Manual and/or IATA Cargo Handling Manual is desirable
Youll have an edge if you have
  • Experience as a technical writer/author in a ground handling company or airline
  • Experience of AGILE project management
