Position Overview:



We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Quantity Surveyor (Sr QS) to join our team, specializing in

payment management

and

contract administration

within the Aluminum and Facade industries. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of

5 to 15 years of experience

in handling payment applications, contract negotiations, and managing project costs across both

pre-contract

and

post-contract

stages. You will be a key player in ensuring efficient financial management and seamless contract execution, guaranteeing that projects are completed within budget while adhering to contractual terms.

Key Responsibilities:



Payment Management:



Payment Applications & Certifications:

Oversee and review payment applications from contractors and suppliers. Ensure the applications are accurate, in line with contractual terms, and that the necessary certifications are obtained before payment approval.

Cost Control:

Develop and maintain payment schedules, ensuring that all payments are processed within the agreed timelines. Monitor cash flow and ensure that financial records reflect the project's payment status accurately.

Assessing Payment Disputes:

Identify and resolve discrepancies in payment claims or certifications, maintaining good relations with contractors, subcontractors, and clients.

Interim Valuations:

Prepare interim valuations and ensure that progress claims align with project work completed and milestones achieved.

Contract Administration & Management:



Contract Review & Drafting:

Review and advise on the contract terms and conditions, ensuring that both pre-contract and post-contract stages align with company policies and industry standards. Assist in drafting and negotiating contract agreements.

Procurement Management:

Support the procurement process by ensuring that payment terms, conditions, and schedules are established clearly in contract documentation. Ensure that contract clauses reflect the scope of work and agreed prices.

Variations & Change Orders:

Manage changes and variations to the scope of work, ensuring they are documented, approved, and valued in compliance with contract terms. Issue relevant change orders and track their impact on payments.

Dispute Resolution:

Take the lead in resolving payment-related disputes or disagreements between contractors, subcontractors, and clients, ensuring that contract terms are adhered to and mitigating risks related to non-payment.

Post-Contract Financial Control:



Final Accounts:

Manage the preparation and submission of final accounts, ensuring all payments are reconciled with contractual obligations and final claims are processed efficiently.

Financial Reporting:

Provide regular updates on project costs, payments, and financial forecasts, ensuring all financial obligations are met in a timely manner.

Stakeholder Engagement:



Client & Contractor Liaison:

Act as a key point of contact for clients and contractors in relation to payment matters, ensuring that all parties are kept informed of financial progress and any potential payment delays or issues.

Contract Compliance & Performance:

Monitor performance and adherence to contractual terms, ensuring that all parties are complying with the contract's payment schedules and conditions.

Qualifications & Requirements:



Education & Certifications:



Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Professional accreditation (e.g., MRICS, RICS, or equivalent) is preferred.

Experience:



Minimum of 5-15 years of experience in Quantity Surveying, with a focus on

payment management

and

contract administration

in the construction industry. Proven expertise in handling

payment applications, interim valuations, and final accounts

in large-scale aluminum and facade projects. Strong knowledge of

construction contracts

(e.g., FIDIC, NEC), specifically those related to payment processes and contractual terms. Experience in managing

post-contract financial management

, including payment dispute resolution, change order management, and contract performance monitoring.

Key Skills:



Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly in payment and contract matters. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. In-depth understanding of the

Aluminum and Facade

industries, with expertise in the specific materials and systems involved.
