PURPOSE & SCOPE: Jobs at this level are engaged in the production of engineering drawings and the supervision of Draftsmen. Job holders perform their Drafting roles within discipline-specific areas of projects and might not be involved in all the accountabilities set out below. This fact does not mean that jobs will be any larger or smaller in evaluation terms as a result of this situation. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviews and checks the work of Draftsmen to ensure accuracy and correctness prior to their formal issue for construction.
Undertakes pre-engineering site surveys in order to confirm the correctness of handover documents and suitability of allocated site for project implementation.
Receives basic drawings from Drafting Team Leader and produces detailed engineering drawings for review and subsequent issue.
Prepares General Arrangement Drawings (GADs), Pipe support drawings.
Produces isometric drawings from GADs
Produces material take-offs to ensure accurate account is taken of all component parts required to complete a project.
Produces 3 dimensional (3D) modelling.
Prepares data diskettes for the Computer Numerical Control system.
Skills Required MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Higher national Certificate, or *equivalent, and an ITI Certificate in Drafting.
10 years of Drafting experience with a t least 3 years in 3D modelling.
Minimum 3 years of experience in oil and gas field preferably in offshore.
Supervisory potential.
Team player.
Good knowledge of written and spoken English.
Experienced and competent Computer Aided Design (CAD) operator.
Rigorous checker.
Note that equivalent not only covers equivalent education or vocation certification, but also covers experience, e.g., 5-10 years relevant experience can be regarded as equivalent.
