Obtaining and developing initial project brief into a concept proposal. Presenting the final brief to the stakeholders/client.
Defining the creative and conceptual direction of projects.
Ensuring design development and documentation is in line with approved concept design and aligned with Binghatti Group's best practices and quality control.
Supervising and coordinating architectural design and drawings with other building disciplines and departments of Binghatti Group.
Liaising with statutory authorities (DM, DCD, DSO, DCCA, etc.). to ensure statutory approvals are in line with project timelines.
Review and validate tender drawings and documentation.
Co-ordinate and review BOQ with QS.
Review and approve shop drawings and submittals.
Regular site supervision.
Managing project profitability, change orders, variations of brief/works.
Assist Head of Design Studio in development and review of design and planning strategies/standards.
Mentor Architects and monitor their performance.
Perform tasks and responsibilities as appropriate with the technical skills and position as directed by Head of Design Studio.
Self-Management Responsibilities (KPI 25%)
Agree on performance goals at beginning of the year in consultation with Head of Design Studio.
Be proactive and strive to achieve high levels of proficiency in tasks performed as Lead Architect.
Actively seek feedback from peers and superiors to identify opportunities for improvement in performance.
Identify training and development requirements for self and consult Head of Design Studio for implementation.
Other Responsibilities (KPI 15%)
Always comply with Binghatti Group's code of ethics.
Adhere to safety regulations particularly at project sites. Report project-related irregularities and policy violations to the line manager.
Manage sensitive and confidential information as per Binghatti Group Management instructions.
Follow work environment discipline and collaborate to enhance the spirit of creativity within Binghatti Group.
Qualifications, Experience, Skills, and Competencies Academic Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Architecture from a recognized University.
Professional Experience
Minimum 10-15 years of design experience with a minimum of 7 years in the UAE.
Registered with Society of Engineers, UAE.
Type of Experience
Preferably within a multi-disciplinary consultancy and having construction site coordination experience.
As Senior Architect should have led a small team of Architects.
Strong portfolio to prove design and aesthetic skills.
Sound knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant authorities rules/regulations and quality standards.
Language Skills
Proficient in English.
Knowledge of Arabic desired.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Project and people management skills.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize work effectively under pressure while remaining calm and professional always.
Technical Competencies
Good freehand drawing skills.
Proficient in AutoCAD/Revit, MS Office with a minimum of 7 years of experience.
