Basic Function

The Senior Advisor, Communications Saudi Arabia is responsible for: Development and Management of all corporate communication in Saudi Arabia and the GCC region, including public relations, employee communications and coordination of crisis communication as needed. Coordination and alignment of issues management process in the region in collaboration with local management and government relations, and providing counsel on related communications. Support communications for M&A projects as needed, occasionally serving in a lead role. This position will report to the Director, of Communications EMEAI and will be located at the LYB Riyadh office. This role will also have a 'dotted reporting line' to the Managing Director, KSA.

Roles & Responsibilities

Develops and implements a full range of Corporate Communications strategies and tactics to ensure visibility and awareness of LYB in the region, integration of company initiatives - including communications measurement and internal communication to enhance corporate awareness of local culture and social norms He/She will be a trusted business partner for multiple internal clients, will have the ability to manage multiple projects, and must interact professionally and appropriately with Sustainability & Corporate Affairs counterparts Utilize external analysis to strategically advise internal stakeholders, particularly LYB Saudi Arabia leadership, in managing campaigns, issues, trends and topics. This individual must operate with an enterprise view and assist in ensuring alignment which considers both the country or region-specific strategies. In this role, this individual will provide strategic communications counsel in support of the issues management process in the Saudi Arabia region and platform integration, as well as manage related storytelling, and execution as needed. He/She will support the EMEAI team's work in identifying and addressing emerging trends/issues to minimize potential reputational impacts. Additionally, this individual will work cohesively with the Government Relations team in support of stakeholder local and regional initiatives and activities. Build consensus and secure buy-in/approval on communications approach Think several steps ahead and anticipates the needs of clients / stakeholders and management Proactively facilitate Sustainability & Corporate Affairs collaboration and functional alignment Use metrics to drive decision-making in support of continuous improvement Represent the company with the utmost integrity and abides by the LyondellBasell Code of Conduct He/She will lead the development and integration of crisis communications in Saudi Arabia, including messaging maintenance for a variety of scenarios as needed. Perform any additional duties as required

Min. Qualifications

Education Bachelor's Degree in journalism, communications, public relations, or related field, Master's Degree preferred Work Experience Minimum of 10 years of post-qualification experience in a communications-related field with strong writing, verbal and presentation skills. Prior corporate communications experience working across functional teams and with business leaders on complex projects. Chemical industry or similar experience is preferred. Experience in external communications, stakeholder engagement and employee communications Agency experience is a plus. Communication Skills - Excellent in Arabic & English Area of Expertise, Requirements Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills, both oral and written Proven self-starter with strong organizational and leadership skills delivering flawless execution while paying attention to detail and meeting tight deadlines Drive resiliency and utilize influencing strategies to tackle opportunities and challenges Act as a liaison / facilitator to positively impact and influence across multiple stakeholder groups Expert analytical skills, proven ability to lead in a rapidly changing environment Engaged business partner with strong stakeholder / client engagement, media relations and reputation management capabilities Drive execution in support of the company's reputation plan, as well as individual business / client objectives Stay abreast of industry issues / challenges and identify mitigation strategies to alleviate potential reputational risks for the company Strong and efficient writing competencies across digital and print platforms Proven ability to multitask and deliver excellence under pressure Experience supporting site leadership, business executives and/or C-suite Demonstrates and applies emotional intelligence Models diversity, equity and inclusion behaviors, including engendering trust, respect and confidence Maintain a high level of confidentiality and manage sensitive materials Demonstrates exceptional judgement and works effectively under pressure, constantly adjusting priorities as circumstances change Sets stretch targets for self to ensure high quality performance
