Job Description

Database Installation and Configuration :

• Install and configure SQL Server software and related components.
• Provision database instances promoting into test, production and development environments.

Database Maintenance and Monitoring:

• Monitor system health and database performance using various SQL Server tools (e.g., SQL Server - -
• Management Studio, Performance Monitor).
• Schedule and perform routine maintenance activity like back up, index optimization and consistency checks.

Backup and Recovery:

• Backup and fail-over strategies- Backup and DR planning.
• Quickly restore databases in the event of a disaster with minimal downtime and data loss.

Performance Tuning and Optimization.

• Monitor and deal with SQL Server performance issues (e.g., slow queries, high CPU).
• Optimize SQL queries, indexes and database structures to make better efficiency and response time.

Security Management:

• Established user roles and permissions to provide state-of-the-art database security.
• Apply encryption and secure protocols to keep sensitive data safe.
• Lead software upgrades that include security patches to shield the system from an assault.

Database Design and Development Assistance

• Assist development teams to design and implement database solutions.
• Help shape the database schema, optimize queries and develop stored procedures.

Troubleshooting and Support:

• Call Rail Incident and Service Requests for Databases
• Troubleshooting and resolving database availability, performance or integrity issues.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Create thorough documentation of database environments, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Create Management & Audit reports (database usage, security audits)

Upgrades and Migrations:

• Modify and test changes to the database: testing, define and manage backup & restore operations;
• Implement recovery routines to ensure disaster recovery can be achieved- Plan, install and execute database upgrades/patches/migrations for new versions of SQL Server.
• •Test and trial upgrades to verify stability of system with continuous performance.

Collaboration and Teamwork:

• Work with network engineers, developers, system admins and others to make sure projects are finished on time.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field Experience:
• Minimum 10 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server versions (2012/2016/2019) and related tools.
• Experience in database security, backups, recovery, performance tuning, and optimization.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED12,000.00 per month
