Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Specification Engineer to join our dynamic team in the UAE. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of engineering specifications and standards, and demonstrate the ability to collaborate with both technical teams and clients. The Specification Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all technical specifications, standards, and compliance requirements are adhered to during the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, review, and maintain detailed specifications for engineering and construction projects, ensuring compliance with national and international standards.

Collaborate with design, procurement, and construction teams to ensure specifications align with project requirements and regulations.

Provide technical advice and guidance on the selection and use of materials, products, and systems.

Perform regular reviews of project drawings, technical documentation, and product specifications to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Liaise with suppliers, manufacturers, and contractors to resolve technical issues and discrepancies in product specifications.

Conduct site inspections and surveys to ensure compliance with specification requirements.

Monitor and track changes to specifications throughout the project lifecycle and update documentation as required.

Ensure all specifications are aligned with sustainability, quality control, and safety regulations in the UAE.

Coordinate with project managers to ensure timelines, budgets, and resources are in line with the specified requirements.

Prepare detailed technical reports and presentation documents for stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or similar) or equivalent.

5+ years of experience in specification engineering, preferably within the UAE or the Middle East.

Strong knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and standards (UAE-specific experience is highly preferred).

Proficient in the use of specification software and tools (e.g., MS Office, AutoCAD, BIM tools).

Solid understanding of engineering principles, materials science, and construction practices.

Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to understand and interpret complex technical documents.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English (Arabic proficiency is a plus).

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Desired Attributes:

Knowledge of sustainability practices and green building standards (e.g., LEED, Estidama).

Familiarity with the local procurement and supply chain dynamics in the UAE.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively.
