Baklava Specialty Chef
Rixos Marina Hotel Abu Dhabi currently seeking an experienced and talented Baklava Specialty Chef to join our prestigious 5-star hotel. As a Specialty Chef, you will be responsible for creating and preparing a variety of traditional and innovative baklava desserts that will delight our guests, your creativity, attention to detail and expertise in baklava making will play a crucial role in enhancing our guests\' dining experience.

What you will be doing:

• Prepare and create a wide range of baklava desserts with traditional and modern variations
• Develop and refine baklava recipes, ensuring consistent quality and taste
• Prepare and present high-quality, visually appealing, and delectable specialty dishes
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef and culinary team to plan menus and specials
• Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes of specialty dishes
• Oversee and participate in the preparation, cooking, and plating of specialty dishes
• Maintain a clean and organized work station, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in the art of specialty cuisine
• Assist in managing inventory, controlling food costs, and minimizing waste
• Keep up to date with industry trends, new techniques, and ingredients, incorporating them into menu development as appropriate

Your experience and skills include:

• Proven experience as a Baklava Specialty Chef or similar role in a high-end restaurant or luxury hotel
• In-depth knowledge of various specialty cuisines, cooking techniques, and ingredients
• Exceptional culinary creativity and passion for creating unique and memorable dining experiences
• Strong organizational and leadership skills
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• Degree or certification in culinary arts or a related field is preferred

Physicals aspects include but are not limited to:

• Constant standing and walking throughout shift
• Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
• Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
