Job Summary:

The Specialized Door and Window Installer is responsible for the precise installation, repair, and maintenance of various types of doors and windows, including curtain walls, sliding doors, bi-fold doors, single leaf doors, double doors, skylights, openable windows, pivot doors, and slim section installations. This role demands specialized skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to high-quality workmanship to ensure the security, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of clients' properties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Installation:
• Curtain Wall:
• Measure and cut materials to specifications.
• Install curtain wall frames and panels, ensuring alignment and structural integrity.
• Seal joints and weatherproof the installation.
• Sliding Door:
• Install tracks and ensure proper sliding mechanism functionality.
• Align and fit sliding doors, ensuring smooth operation.
• Bi-Fold Door:
• Set up bi-fold door tracks and hinges.
• Install panels and ensure proper folding and unfolding action.
• Single Leaf Door:
• Install door frames, hinges, and locks.
• Align and hang single leaf doors.
• Double Door:
• Install double door frames and ensure proper alignment.
• Fit and adjust double doors for even operation.
• Skylight:
• Cut roof openings and prepare for skylight installation.
• Install skylight frames and glass, ensuring proper sealing and insulation.
• Openable Window:
• Install window frames and ensure openable mechanism works smoothly.
• Fit glass panes and ensure proper sealing and insulation.
• Pivot Door:
• Install pivot hinges and align doors to ensure balanced operation.
• Slim Section:
• Install slim section frames and glass panels with precision.
• Ensure minimalistic design is maintained without compromising functionality.
• Maintenance and Repair:
• Diagnose issues with existing installations.
• Perform necessary repairs or adjustments to ensure doors and windows function correctly.
• Replace broken or damaged components such as glass panes, hinges, locks, and weatherstripping.
• Quality Control:
• Inspect finished work to ensure installations meet quality standards and client specifications.
• Ensure all installations comply with building codes and safety regulations.
• Customer Service:
• Interact professionally with clients to understand their needs and preferences.
• Provide guidance on door and window options, maintenance tips, and warranty information.
• Address any client concerns or questions promptly and courteously.
• Team Collaboration:
• Work collaboratively with other construction and installation team members.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, architects, and clients.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior installers as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a door and window installer with specialization in various types of doors and windows listed.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools required for installation and repair tasks.
• Strong understanding of installation techniques, building codes, and safety standards.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification or training in carpentry, construction, or a related field.
• Experience with a variety of door and window materials, such as wood, aluminum, and vinyl.
• Knowledge of energy-efficient window and door options.

Working Conditions:

• Full-time position, often requiring early mornings and extended hours.
• Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, sometimes in adverse weather conditions.
• May involve travel to various job sites.
