Summary We are seeking a skilled and passionate Tea Sommelier to curate an exceptional tea experience for our customers. The Tea Sommelier will be responsible for selecting, sourcing, and presenting a diverse range of high-quality teas. They will also play a crucial role in educating both staff and customers on various tea varieties, preparation methods, and the art of tea appreciation. Responsibilities Tea Selection and Sourcing:
Research, select, and source a premium and diverse range of teas.
Develop relationships with tea suppliers and ensure the highest quality standards.
Tea Presentation:
Design and curate tea menus, ensuring a well-balanced and enticing selection.
Train team members on proper tea presentation, including brewing techniques and serving etiquette.
Customer Engagement:
Provide expert guidance to customers on tea selections based on their preferences.
Conduct tea tastings and events & promotions to enhance the customer experience.
Education:
Educate team members on the nuances of various tea varieties, origins, and preparation methods.
Conduct regular training sessions for staff and create informative materials for customers.
Quality Control:
Implement and maintain quality control procedures for tea storage, brewing, and serving.
Monitor inventory levels and ensure freshness of tea stock.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with kitchen staff to pair teas with food items, enhancing overall dining experiences.
Work closely with management to develop and implement tea-related promotions and events.
Stay Informed:
Stay informed about industry trends, new tea varieties, and emerging tea cultures.
Continuously update knowledge to provide customers with the latest and most enjoyable tea experiences.

Development of direct reports to give them ongoing feedback and development.

Qualifications Experience/Certificates/Education
Experience as a Tea Sommelier or similar role in a luxury hotel.
In-depth knowledge of various tea varieties, their origins, and preparation methods.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Certification as a Certified Tea Specialist or equivalent is preferred.
Ability to lift and carry tea-related equipment.
Passion for tea and a commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience.
