Prosthodontist Responsibilities:
\xe2\x97\x8f Examine patients with X-rays and other equipment to make diagnoses
\xe2\x97\x8f Create charts of patient\'s mouths
\xe2\x97\x8f Take measurements for prostheses like dentures, crowns, and bridges
\xe2\x97\x8f Make wax models of prostheses, and supervise dental technicians and laboratory bench workers in doing so
\xe2\x97\x8f Send models to lab companies that manufacture prostheses
\xe2\x97\x8f Place prostheses in patients\' mouths, making adjustments to make them fit properly
\xe2\x97\x8f Repair, rebase, and reline dentures
\xe2\x97\x8f Administer anesthesia, and prescribe medications like antibiotics
\xe2\x97\x8f Conduct surgery to repair structures of the mouth to enable those who have suffered injuries or diseases to regain functions
\xe2\x97\x8f Employ bonding methods to alter the shape of teeth and close gaps between them, to improve function or appearance
\xe2\x97\x8f Treat ailments that cause pain in the face and jaw

\xe2\x97\x8f Make and fit dentures, crowns, and bridges
\xe2\x97\x8f Work with other dentists and dental assistants
\xe2\x97\x8f 3 to 4 years of residency program
\xe2\x97\x8f Must be licensed to practice
\xe2\x97\x8f Good communication and interpersonal skills.
