Job Description

The role plans, implements, oversees and improves the Aviation Safety Management Systems at both Das and Zirku Airport ensuring the airports operate and complies with GCAA certification conditions, standards and requirements.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Job Specific Accountabilities
- To act as the GCAA certification Post holder in AFIS, Aerodrome Operations, Safety, Quality and Maintenance as required.
- Authorized to discharge duties of GCAA accepted post holder in accordance with GCAA CAR Part IX Oversee the operation of the Aviation SMS for Airport specific elements in accordance with GCAA regulations, international aviation and industry best practices, in line with the Aerodrome Manual (Part 6, SMS)
- Conduct safety audits, survey and investigations for Airport related issues and analyses technical data related to Airport safety issues and hazards
- Advise Airport management and HSEQ departments to ensure continuous improvements of the Aviation SMS
- Oversee the Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment processes conducted at each Airport ensuring they meet procedure and have considered appropriate actions, prior to approving them. This includes liaising and advising the
- Aviation Team HSE department on all safety occurrence reports, near miss reports and other reports submitted which
- are related to fixed wing and rotary wing operations at Das and Zirku Airport as per the procedures in the Aviation
- SMS manual (Aerodrome Manual part 6).
- Oversee the wildlife management policy and the aerodrome safeguarding processes to ensure wild life control is appropriate for the safety of aircraft and obstacle surfaces/ new constructions do not impact on aircraft operations
- or introduce a hazard to the safety of aircraft in flight and the airspace in the vicinity of the islands and in the immediate vicinity of the airports.
- Oversee the aerodrome inspection regimes, records and operating staff compliance with Aerodrome Manuals instruction and Airport Operation Instructions, issues corrective actions where required and review and revise instructions to ensure they are appropriate for use.
- Perform the focal point discussion with the GCAA providing expert knowledge and advice to the company over Airport safety issues, Aerodrome Audit responses, certification and operational issues.
- Ensure the aerodrome manuals and other GCAA approved documents are correct, accurate and updated and submitted to GCAA for approval in a timely manner.
- As per all employees, shall work in line with company HSEQ policies and procedures and shall ensure adherence and compliance with the instructions contained in the Aerodrome Manual and the SMS procedures (part 6, Aerodrome Manual) as approved by the GCAA
- Liaise/advise with other departments/service providers with regard to the provision of GCAA required services, such as RFFS, maintenance of aerodrome facilities and terminal operation/building maintenance where this is not directly controlled by the airport team leaders.
- Participate in the bird control policy for the aerodrome, airport safety, security committees, risk assessments, task forces, studies and investigations related to all aviation matters.
- In accordance with UAE rules and ADNOC code of conduct, maintain enhanced security awareness towards Data, Information, Personnel and infrastructure.
- Work in line with HSE policy, and ensure awareness and compliance of HSE rules and regulations.
- Give advice and consultants to the management regarding the aviation matter.
- Daily contacts with Airport Operational teams and team leaders
- Daily contacts with concerned personnel to discuss/advise on GCAA regulations, certification requirements and aerodrome operating practices in line with the Aerodrome manuals.
- Regular contacts with government officials (GCAA) and aviation service providers\' site management, Abu Dhabi based teams and administrations to discuss/ advise on safety activities and operational requirements with regard to all operations undertaken on an aerodrome as Authorized post holders.
- Regular contact with site management over areas and provisions of services under site management control
- Exercise latitude when providing support on solutions to problems.

Supervision
- Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
- Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.Budgets
- Provide input for preparation of the Section / Department budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Section objectives.
- Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost controlPolicies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
- Implement approved Section / Department policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Section\'s / Department work programs in line with Company and International standards.Performance Management
- Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Section / Department in line with the Company Performance framework.Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
- Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
- Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.Reports

- Companies looking at the supply chain and its opportunities to create linkREQUIREMENTSQUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor degree in aviation safety related subjects or aviation management or equivalent.Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
- 8 - 9 years of experience, including at least experience in airport safety management post, airport operational management posts and with a high level of knowledge of GCAA regulations and ICAO SARPS with operation experience at certified aerodromes.
- High level of knowledge and practical experience on aerodrome emergency response planning.
- Strong skills in MS-Office products.
- High level of proficiency in English Language.Professional Certifications
