:Administers anesthesia to patients during surgical and other medical procedures.Responsibilities:
To administer anesthesia for routine and emergency surgical patients and manage critically ill ventilated ICU patients.
Provides anesthesia with the full range of anesthetic agents
Provides technical advice and guidance to nursing staff, other specialists, as required, and provides orientation/training in new techniques and procedures.
Conducts pre-operative anaesthesia check up and develop as anaesthesia care plan.
Communicate the details to the patient, establish rapport, answer queries and help handle fear and apprehension.
Should ensure all aspects of patient preparation is adhered to and all relevant preparations are completed.
Ensures utmost infection control practice adherence inside the theatre complex.
Ensures correct patient positioning and availability of all necessary equipments, instruments, consumables, PACS etc.
Responsible for maintaining optimal anaesthesia and fluid balance during the procedure.
Supervises post-operative area with respect to patient recovery before shifting the patient to respective ward.
Ensures proper terminal cleaning is completed in all aspects before the next case is taken into the theatre.
To monitor gas scavenging system is functioning properly and effectively.
To monitor HPEA filters are changed as per schedule.
To monitor and restrict traffic into the theatre during procedure.
To monitor and ensure proper compliance of the vendor staff while accompanying the operating surgeons for any procedure.
Manage patients during sedation and during the period of actual recovery from sedation and documents monitoring.
Follow up patients post operatively to evaluate recovery from anesthesia, to assess complications and make recommendation as indicated.
Supervises and maintains appropriate documentation on the controlled drugs in the OT complex.
Available for anaesthesia services on call as required by HOD.
Actively participates in Quality improvement activities.
Assists HOD Anesthesiologist In supervising the day-to-day anesthetic work.
Keeps current with new procedures and techniques in the field of Anesthesia.
Stands on-call duty as assigned by HOD Anesthesiologist, for emergency surgery, obstetrics and/or medical procedures.
Takes active part in the teaching of fellow anesthesiologists and other nursing staff.
Administer anesthesia services in appropriate dosages in routine or emergency situations for various age groups as privileged by the hospital.
Actively participate in CPR.
Provides on-call emergency services of anesthesia services.
Conduct labor analgesias.
Qualifications: * Graduate from an accredited school of Medicine with an MBBS degree.
Post graduate degree in Anaesthesia (MD Anaesthesiology) or equivalent
Minimum of three years full time in the practice of anesthesiology post MD (Anaesthesiology) or post certification by American Board of Anesthesiology or post Fellow of the College of Anesthetists of the Royal College of Surgeon (FCA / FRCA) examination or equivalent.
] * Comprehensive knowledge of safe use of all general anesthetic agents, techniques and methods currently accepted in the practice of anesthesia.
Ability in the absence of the Chief Anesthesiologist, to provide on-site assessment of personnel, equipment and overall anesthesia environment.
Current license in country of origin with Specialist Anesthesiologist DOH license to practice in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.
Excellent command of oral and written English. Knowledge of Arabic language is desirable but not essential.
Valid ACLS license is a must.
Ability to work in cordial conditions in group practice in a hospital set up.
