The Sous Chef Baker will be responsible for overseeing all baking operations, ensuring the production of high-quality baked goods, and managing the bakery team.
This role requires a creative and skilled individual who can maintain consistency in product quality, and uphold the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities:
- Together with our Bakery brand chef & Head of Bakery, plan, prepare, and execute the production of a wide range of baked goods, including bread, pastries, cakes, and other specialty items.
- Together with our Bakery brand chef, develop and test new recipes, ensuring they meet company standards and customer expectations.
- Manage and train the bakery team, providing guidance and support to improve their skills and efficiency.
- Ensure all products are made according to recipes and specifications, maintaining consistency and quality.
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering ingredients and supplies, and minimizing waste.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery area, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Monitor and manage baking schedules to ensure timely production and delivery of goods.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and marketing, to promote new products and seasonal offerings.
- Address customer feedback and resolve any issues related to bakery products.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef (Baker) or in a similar role in a commercial bakery.
- Excellent knowledge of baking techniques and the ability to produce a wide variety of baked goods.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Creative and innovative mindset with the ability to develop new recipes.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.
