- Wine Selection: Curate and maintain an extensive and diverse wine list that complements the culinary offerings of the hotel\'s restaurants. Select wines from around the world that meet the preferences of our guests and enhance their dining experience.
- Wine Service: Provide expert wine recommendations and guidance to guests, assisting them in selecting the perfect wine to complement their meal. Offer insights into wine varietals, regions, and pairings to enhance the dining experience.
- Cellar Management: Oversee the storage and rotation of wine inventory, ensuring proper handling, temperature control, and organization in the wine cellar. Conduct regular inventory checks and manage wine orders to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Staff Training: Conduct wine training sessions for restaurant staff to enhance their knowledge and understanding of wine service. Educate staff on wine varietals, tasting techniques, and food pairings to ensure consistent and exceptional service standards.
- Guest Relations: Build rapport with guests and develop relationships with wine enthusiasts, offering personalized recommendations and tailored wine experiences to meet their preferences and interests.
- Wine Events: Plan and organize wine events, tastings, and wine pairing dinners to showcase the hotel\'s wine offerings and engage guests in unique culinary experiences. Collaborate with the culinary team to create memorable dining experiences that highlight wine and food pairings.
- Quality Control: Ensure that all wines served meet the highest standards of quality and integrity. Conduct regular tastings and evaluations to assess the condition and flavor profile of wines and make recommendations for adjustments to the wine list as needed.
- Certified Sommelier with a recognized qualification (e.g., Court of Master Sommeliers, WSET) preferred.
- Previous experience as a Sommelier in a luxury hotel or fine dining restaurant environment.
- Extensive knowledge of wine varietals, regions, vintages, and production techniques.
- Strong palate and sensory evaluation skills, with the ability to assess wine quality and characteristics accurately.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and educate guests effectively.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required to meet the needs of our guests.
