The Sommelier is responsible for offering recommendations on the best wine pairing to the guests. Sommelier responsibilities include wine serving and upselling as well as providing wine selections to the guests and providing assistance to team members when necessary. The ideal candidate will have proven Sommelier experience in a similar establishment, excellent communication abilities, and a keen understanding of wines from various regions. Responsibilities
- Assist guests with wine selections in a helpful, thoughtful, and gracious manner.
- Ensure wines are served at the right temperature and within the proper glassware.
- Inform guests of the variety of wines available.
- Store open bottles properly to maintain taste.
- Train team members on available wines.
- Comply with health and safety regulations.
- Perform other duties pertinent to this job as assigned.
- Certification as a Sommelier or a Degree in Hospitality is beneficial.
- At least 2 years\' experience as Sommelier, Wine Steward from upscale venue, international experience will be highly preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of wines and regions of the different types.
- Proficient in inventory management
