Job Description

• Conduct research and analysis on the global soft and hard commodities market, including supply and demand trends, prices, and trade flows
• Identify and analyze key market drivers, including economic, environmental, and regulatory factors
• Develop and maintain databases and models to track market trends and forecast future developments
• Analyze and interpret large datasets to identify patterns and trends
• Provide insights and recommendations to inform business decisions, including market entry strategies, investment opportunities, and risk management
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and operations, to ensure alignment with business objectives
• Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, including industry associations, research institutions, and government agencies
• Stay up-to-date with industry developments and trends, including new technologies and innovations

Soft Commodities Focus

• Conduct research and analysis on soft commodities, including:
• Agricultural products (e.g. grains, oilseeds, coffee, sugar)
• Livestock and meat products (e.g. beef, pork, poultry)
• Dairy products (e.g. milk, cheese, butter)
• Other soft commodities (e.g. cotton, tobacco)
• Analyze and interpret data on soft commodity prices, production, and trade flows
• Identify trends and opportunities in the soft commodities market

Hard Commodities Focus

• Conduct research and analysis on hard commodities, including:
• Metals (e.g. copper, gold, iron ore, aluminum)
• Energy products (e.g. crude oil, natural gas, coal)
• Industrial minerals (e.g. lithium, cobalt, nickel)
• Other hard commodities (e.g. diamonds, rare earth elements)
• Analyze and interpret data on hard commodity prices, production, and trade flows
• Identify trends and opportunities in the hard commodities market

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Agriculture, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in research and analysis, preferably in the commodities industry
• Strong understanding of the global soft and hard commodities market, including supply and demand trends, prices, and trade flows
• Proven track record of conducting research and analysis, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify patterns and trends in large datasets
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to present complex data and insights to non-technical stakeholders
• Proficiency in data analysis tools, including Excel, SQL, and statistical software packages
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
