Innovative Medicine EMEA Finance is recruiting for a Senior Finance Director, Innovative Medicine EMEA Emerging Markets
The Senior FD will be responsible for the financial leadership, direction, and management of Innovative Medicines (IM) EMEA in Emerging Markets. This includes the development, execution, management and follow up of strategies and action plans to maximize the value of our portfolio over the long term. In doing so, the Senior FD will ensure alignment with all stakeholders in finance, the EM Managing Director and the subcluster leadership to develop and implement these plans. This includes the planning of revenue, allocation of resources, optimization of profitability and working capital, maximization of Cash Flow and the management of the financial risks and opportunities across brands, teams, and countries. IM EMEA Emerging Markets is a cluster delivering over $1.5B in turnover, representing commercial and medical activities in approximately 40 countries in EMEA, geographically covering Africa, Russia, CIS, Turkey, and the Middle-East and foresting strong future growth. In addition, the Senior FD oversees the financial planning and analysis of the EMEA Value Optimizer (VO) business, aimed at maximizing the value of the VO portfolio. The EMEA VO business generates a turnover of $2.5-3.0B and includes mainly products that no longer have market exclusivity, such as Zytiga, Remicade, Simponi and the HIV portfolio. The Senior FD will steer the work of a dedicated SFA while having regular interactions with the VO commercial team.
Key Responsibilities Emerging Markets
Financial Planning, Analysis & Decision Support · Lead and deliver on the financial planning of the strategic plan (LRFP), IBP (integrated business plan), business plan, updates, and latest thinking. This includes detailed analysis and scenario thinking, alignment of all parties within the Emerging Markets and EMEA Region and coordination of the preparation, consolidation and review of the detailed financial plans · Lead the periodic financial performance reviews & budget variance analysis providing an overview of performance to the Emerging Markets Operating Committee (EMOC) as well as to EMEA, including drivers of variance and insights into future impacts · Actively contribute to commercial decision-making process, including target setting and resource allocation, trade-offs, GTN optimization and management of financial risks (FX, credit...)
Business Partnering · Strong business partnership with all members of the EMOC, functional heads and EMEA counterparts · Secure country profitability and develop risk mitigation plans in a VUCA environment (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous) · Constructive challenging and looking for value-creating growth opportunities · Management of business plan commitments (e.g. sales, FTE, OPEX, DSO, CAPEX) and redeployments where needed · External focus and ability to establish connections with external stakeholders (e.g. other J&J Finance Directors, internal and external auditors, cross-functional finance teams, distributors, wholesalers...) · As an EMOC member, sponsor projects/processes outside the scope of Finance · Participate and lead EMEA and cross-sector initiatives · Ensure active participation of the Finance Partners in Local Board Meetings, Management Business Reviews (MBRs) and Strategic Plans · Lead the organization and business partners through the SigniFi journey, with focus on the Integrated Business Plan process (IBP) as well as future reporting standardization

People management · Attract, develop and retain top talent while creating the finance organization of the future. The Senior FD currently has 9 direct reports and manages a team of 20+ HC · Ensure collaboration as ONE Finance team, i.e. bringing together GS A2R, GS LEA, GS I2C, Tax, Treasury... and be the single point of contact for EMEA Finance · Be an inspirational leader, inspiring people to reach their maximum potential while having an external and customer focus, and ensuring Credo Values are demonstrated in the day-to-day interactions of the EM Finance team · Demonstrate intellectual curiosity, ability to manage issues end-to-end, ability to quickly analyze situations, confidence in making decisions, ability to influence outcomes and an agile learning attitude (test, learn and adapt) · Coach and mentor key talents in IM EMEA Finance, IM Emerging Markets and Cross sector Finance Qualifications · University degree in Business/Finance/Economics with at least 15 years of relevant business experience, pharmaceutical industry know-how is a plus, MBA, CMA, and/or CPA is preferred · Minimum of 10 years of experience in leading teams, also in collaborating with senior management, business, and functional leaders · Experience of leadership in Emerging Markets or generally in a VUCA environment is a plus · Proven financial and analytical skills, result and performance driven · Strong interpersonal skills, team player mentality and collaborative working style · Excellent presentation, communication, influencing and framing skills · Exemplary leadership skills in creating high performing teams and developing people to their highest potential · Ability to manage complexity, uncertainty and ambiguity in periods of change · Customer orientation / market knowledge / business acumen · Ability to lead and work in a virtual matrix organization · Excellent English language skills. · Travel: 30% required · Location: Preference for location in Dubai, UAE or one of the J&J Principal Sourcing Countries (Switzerland, Belgium, Ireland) Travel:
