Subject Matter Expert - Cash Management & Trade Finance Solutions

Overview : The SME is responsible for leading and managing IT projects related to trade finance products and services. This role involves coordinating between various stakeholders, ensuring the successful implementation of technology solutions that enhance trade finance operations, and driving process improvement s.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Relevant experience in the implementation of Trade Finance solutions. Good Knowledge of Trade products, trade services and interfacing with SWIFT messages and core banking systems.
• Ability to work on web-based Trade Finance system which enables Banks Trade Finance department to process transactions of different Trade Finance products. Knowledge of configuration of different Trade Finance products in the engine according to corporate customer requirements, analyze and investigate for any challenges.
• Relevant experience to work on Trade Finance products like Letter of Credit(LC), Collections, Guarantees, Stand by Letter of Credit and associated instruments
• Understanding of SWIFT Message types MT700 for LC issuance, MT760 for Guarantees, MT103 and MT202 COV payment message etc. Bill of Lading, Bill of Exchange , and other Commercial and Financial documents
• Project Planning - Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables. Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets.
• Requirements Gathering - Collaborate with stakeholders, including finance, operations, and IT, to gather and document business requirements for trade finance solutions. Conduct workshops, interviews, and surveys to understand user needs and expectations.
• Process Analysis - Analyze current trade finance processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement. Develop process maps and documentation to illustrate current and future state processes.
• Solution Design - Work with IT teams to translate business requirements into functional specifications and technical requirements. Participate in the design and development of trade finance systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Team Leadership - Assemble and lead project teams, assigning roles and responsibilities. Facilitate collaboration and communication among team members.
• Stakeholder Management - Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders. Gather and manage stakeholder requirements and expectations.
• Risk Management - Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Monitor and address project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Quality Assurance - Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and requirements. Implement processes for continuous improvement.
• Resource Management - Manage project resources, including personnel, equipment, and budget. Optimize resource allocation to meet project goals.
• Reporting and Documentation - Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, reports, and logs. Prepare regular status reports and presentations for stakeholders.
• Post-Implementation Review - Evaluate project outcomes and gather feedback for future projects. Conduct lessons learned sessions to improve processes.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field; PMP or similar certification preferred.
• Experience: Proven experience in Project management and Trade Finance Business Analyst or SME within an IT environment.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira) and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and resolve issues effectively.
