Overview:
Saco Carpentry, a premier provider of joinery and interior fit-out services in Dubai, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Site Supervisor for our Joinery & Interior Work division. As a Site Supervisor, you will oversee the execution of joinery and interior installation projects on-site, ensuring high-quality results and the successful completion of projects within set timelines and budgets. You will be responsible for leading a team of skilled joiners, carpenters, and subcontractors, while ensuring the safety, quality, and efficiency of all work. This is a full-time position where you will report directly to the Site Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Site Operations Management:
- Supervise day-to-day activities on-site, ensuring all joinery and interior work aligns with project specifications, design, and safety requirements.
- Coordinate and manage the tasks of joiners, carpenters, subcontractors, and other site personnel, ensuring tasks are completed on schedule and to the highest quality.
- Ensure all materials are handled, stored, and used in compliance with safety standards.
2. Safety and Compliance:
- Implement and enforce strict safety protocols in accordance with local regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
- Conduct daily safety inspections and hold safety briefings with the team to discuss potential hazards and address safety concerns.
- Ensure all workers are wearing the appropriate PPE and following safety procedures.
3. Quality Control:
- Oversee and inspect the quality of joinery and interior fit-out work, ensuring that it meets company standards, design specifications, and relevant building codes.
- Perform regular inspections of completed work and ensure any discrepancies are addressed promptly.
- Work with the Site Supervisor to resolve any quality issues and implement corrective measures as necessary.
4. Project Coordination:
- Collaborate closely with the Site Supervisor, Project Manager, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination of all site activities.
- Monitor project progress, ensuring that work is completed on time and that any delays or issues are reported to the Site Supervisor.
- Ensure that material deliveries are scheduled properly and that all materials are on-site when needed to avoid delays.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and detailed site records, including daily work logs, attendance, materials used, and any issues or incidents on-site.
- Provide regular updates to the Site Supervisor regarding project status, challenges, and milestones.
- Ensure that all necessary paperwork, including permits, safety records, and inspection documents, is completed and properly filed.
6. Resource Management:
- Ensure the effective use and management of resources, including carpentry tools, equipment, and materials required for joinery and interior projects.
- Monitor the inventory of materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring all necessary resources are available and in good condition.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or shortages to the Site Supervisor.
7. Team Leadership:
- Lead by example, promoting a culture of professionalism, teamwork, and high standards of craftsmanship.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to junior carpenters, joiners, and laborers on-site.
- Foster collaboration and communication among team members to ensure smooth and efficient site operations.
8. Problem-Solving and Issue Resolution:
- Quickly identify and resolve any issues or obstacles that arise during the project, including design challenges, delays, or conflicts among workers.
- Work with the Site Supervisor to find solutions that keep the project on track and within budget.
- Anticipate potential challenges and proactively address them to avoid project delays.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required). A degree or certification in carpentry, construction management, or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Site Supervisor in joinery, interior fit-out, or a similar field.
- Extensive knowledge of carpentry, joinery techniques, and interior fit-out practices.
- Familiarity with local construction regulations and building codes in Dubai.
- Experience leading and managing teams on construction or interior fit-out projects.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in using construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend) is a plus.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification (or equivalent) is preferred.
- Knowledge of Dubai's construction industry standards and local safety regulations.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position with standard working hours, though flexibility may be required to meet project deadlines.
- Outdoor site work in Dubai, including varying weather conditions and potential exposure to extreme heat.
- The role may require evening or weekend work depending on the project schedule and deadlines.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, bending, and long periods of standing or walking.
