Site Supervisor - Fitout Projects

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Site Supervisor to join our team, specializing in fitout projects. With a strong background in managing the day-to-day operations of construction sites, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our fitout projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. As a Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire construction process, managing subcontractors, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining open communication between all stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervision of Site Activities: Oversee the day-to-day operations on-site, ensuring that all tasks are completed in line with project timelines, specifications, and quality standards. You will be the main point of contact on-site, ensuring smooth coordination between the various teams and subcontractors.
• Team Leadership: Lead, direct, and manage subcontractors, ensuring that their work is in line with project requirements. You will ensure that the workforce on-site adheres to company policies and health and safety regulations, while also fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Quality Control and Safety Compliance: Maintain a strong focus on quality control and safety throughout the duration of the project. You will conduct regular site inspections to identify and resolve any potential safety hazards or issues, ensuring that the site remains compliant with all local health and safety regulations.
• Progress Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor the progress of the project, ensuring that deadlines are met and that work is completed according to schedule. You will be responsible for providing regular updates to the Project Manager regarding the status of the project, including any potential delays or challenges.
• Problem-Solving and Issue Resolution: Quickly identify any problems on-site and take immediate corrective action. Whether it's addressing delays, solving technical challenges, or handling conflicts, your role will be integral to maintaining project momentum and ensuring client satisfaction.
• Site Organization and Efficiency: Ensure the site is kept organized and efficient, maintaining proper documentation and ensuring all work areas are tidy and safe. You will oversee the logistics of materials and ensure that the correct resources are available for each phase of the project.
• Client and Stakeholder Communication: Maintain strong communication with clients, contractors, and other key stakeholders. You will be expected to manage client expectations, report progress, and address any concerns or questions that arise during the project lifecycle.
• Training and Development: Assist in the training and mentoring of junior site staff or new team members. You will also help promote a culture of continuous improvement within the team, encouraging proactive approaches to problem-solving.

Qualifications:

• Experience: A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a Site Supervisor in the fitout industry. Previous experience managing fitout projects, such as office or retail space refurbishments, is essential.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction processes, fitout procedures, and health and safety regulations. You should be well-versed in overseeing the logistical and technical aspects of fitout projects.
• Leadership: Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively, ensuring optimal performance while maintaining a collaborative, positive work environment.
• Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly resolve issues that arise on-site, from technical challenges to logistical hurdles.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills. You must be able to effectively communicate with clients, contractors, and project managers, ensuring that expectations are met and concerns are addressed.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications such as a First Aid Certificate, Health & Safety qualification, or equivalent are highly preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in construction project management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with AutoCAD or other relevant design tools is a plus.
