Job Description

Position Overview:

A Site Installer specializing in metal works is responsible for the on-site installation, assembly, and maintenance of metal structures and components. This role involves working at various construction or project sites, ensuring that metal installations are completed accurately, safely, and to the highest quality standards. Site installers work with a range of metal materials, including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel, and may be involved in projects such as building frameworks, staircases, railings, and other structural elements.

Key Responsibilities:

Installation and Assembly:

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine installation requirements. Measure, cut, and shape metal components on-site as needed. Assemble and install metal structures, such as frameworks, staircases, railings, and other architectural elements. Use hand and power tools, as well as welding equipment, to complete installations.

Welding and Joining:

Perform on-site welding (MIG, TIG, or arc welding) to join metal components. Ensure welds are strong, clean, and meet quality standards. Inspect and test welds for defects and make necessary repairs.

Quality Control:

Inspect installed metal structures to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards. Identify and correct any defects or issues in the installation. Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.

Safety Compliance:

Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor immediately. Ensure the work area is safe and compliant with health and safety regulations.

Equipment Maintenance:

Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition. Troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed. Keep the work area clean and organized to ensure safety and efficiency.

Collaboration:

Work closely with other team members, including project managers, engineers, and other tradespeople, to ensure project requirements are met. Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to resolve any issues or concerns. Coordinate with other trades on-site to ensure smooth project progression.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in metal fabrication, welding, or a related field is preferred. Experience: Proven experience as a site installer or metal worker, with a strong portfolio of completed projects. Skills:


Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings. Skilled in using various hand and power tools, as well as welding equipment. Strong attention to detail and precision. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Knowledge of welding techniques and safety standards. Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Welder) are a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive motions. Capable of lifting and moving heavy materials and equipment. Comfortable working in various environments, including confined spaces and at heights. Ability to work in outdoor conditions and adverse weather.

Work Environment:

Typically works on construction sites or project locations. Exposure to noise, fumes, and heat from machinery and welding. Use of protective gear, including helmets, gloves, and safety glasses
