Job Summary:
The Site Engineer is responsible for the management, supervision, and execution of all construction activities at the project site. They ensure that the construction work is carried out in accordance with design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Supervision:
Supervise day-to-day site activities, ensuring that construction operations are conducted in compliance with project plans and specifications.
Manage and coordinate the work of subcontractors, labor, and other site personnel.
Conduct regular site inspections and monitor progress to ensure the work is on track and meets the required quality standards.
Technical Support:
Provide technical advice and solutions to the construction team on-site.
Interpret and explain project drawings, plans, and specifications to the site team.
Ensure that materials, equipment, and manpower are available to meet project deadlines.
Quality Control:
Ensure that the construction work meets the required quality standards, codes, and regulations.
Conduct site inspections to ensure the work is performed in compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
Address any issues related to quality assurance or quality control and take corrective action as necessary.
Health & Safety:
Enforce and promote strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations on the construction site.
Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure that all workers are using proper safety equipment and following safety protocols.
Report and manage any safety hazards or incidents on-site.
Resource Management:
Coordinate and manage materials, labor, and equipment on-site.
Ensure that materials are ordered and delivered in a timely manner to avoid delays.
Monitor the usage of resources to avoid wastage and ensure cost-effectiveness.
Project Documentation:
Maintain accurate daily logs of site activities, including weather conditions, work completed, and any issues encountered.
Prepare and submit daily or weekly progress reports to the Project Manager or Senior Engineer.
Ensure that all required documentation (e.g., permits, approvals, inspections) is completed on time.
Problem Solving:
Identify and resolve any issues that arise on the construction site, including technical, logistical, or resource-related challenges.
Ensure that any changes or modifications to the construction plan are documented and approved by the relevant authorities.
Liaison and Communication:
Act as the point of contact between the project team, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
Maintain effective communication with other engineers, architects, and the client to ensure smooth execution of the project.
Budget and Cost Control:
Assist in monitoring the project budget and ensure that work is completed within financial constraints.
Track project costs and report any discrepancies or changes to the project manager.
Skills & Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Experience:
2-5 years of experience in site engineering or construction management, preferably in the construction industry.
Technical Skills:
Knowledge of AutoCAD or other design software.
Familiarity with construction codes, standards, and safety regulations.
