A Site Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing construction projects on-site, ensuring that they are completed safely, on time, and within budget. The role involves coordinating between the project team, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure the project is executed according to plans and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning & Coordination:
• Assist in planning and organizing construction activities.
• Coordinate with project managers, architects, and contractors.
• Ensure adherence to project schedules and timelines.
2. Site Supervision:
• Oversee the day-to-day operations on the construction site.
• Supervise workers and contractors to ensure work is completed to the required standard.
• Monitor progress and performance, making adjustments as needed.
3. Quality Control:
• Ensure all construction work complies with local building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
• Inspect materials and work quality regularly.
• Address any issues or defects that arise during construction.
4. Health and Safety Compliance:
• Enforce safety standards and protocols to ensure the well-being of workers.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
• Ensure all site activities comply with health and safety regulations.
5. Budget and Resource Management:
• Monitor project costs and resources to ensure efficiency and prevent budget overruns.
• Order and manage materials, ensuring that they arrive on time and meet required specifications.
6. Problem Solving and Issue Resolution:
• Address technical issues or unexpected challenges on-site, finding solutions to ensure project continuity.
• Communicate effectively with team members to resolve problems promptly.
7. Reporting and Documentation:
• Maintain accurate records of site activities, progress reports, and other documentation.
• Submit regular updates to senior management regarding project status.
8. Collaboration and Communication:
• Act as a liaison between various stakeholders, including the construction team, clients, and project managers.
• Hold regular meetings with contractors, workers, and consultants to ensure smooth communication.
9. Knowledge in preparing drawings for submission in property and government portals such as TRAKHEES, DDA, DM, and DCD.

• Strong knowledge of construction methods and processes.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
• Ability to manage and motivate teams effectively.
• Knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:
• A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience in construction site management or engineering.
• Familiarity with relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project).
• Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, site safety training) are often beneficial.
• Proficiency in civil engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit and Etaps).
• 2 years of work experience in the same field in Dubai.
Work Environment:
Civil engineers may work in an office setting for design and planning, but they spend most of their time visiting construction sites to monitor progress and resolve issues. The work environment can involve fieldwork in varying weather conditions, and engineers may be required to travel to different project locations.
