Job OverviewThe Signage AutoCAD Draughtsman is responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans for signage projects using AutoCAD software. This role involves collaborating with designers, architects, and project managers to ensure that all signage meets the necessary specifications and quality standards. The Draughtsman will also be responsible for maintaining and updating project documentation, as well as ensuring that all drawings are accurate and comply with relevant regulations and standards.Key Responsibilities * Drafting and Design
Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings of signage using AutoCAD.
Develop design plans, sections, elevations, and details for various signage types, including interior, exterior, wayfinding, and custom signs.
Incorporate design specifications, materials, finishes, and installation methods into drawings.
Collaboration and Communication
Work closely with designers, architects, and project managers to understand project requirements and objectives.
Participate in project meetings to discuss and review design concepts, progress, and modifications.
Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and suppliers to gather information and clarify design details.
Technical Documentation
Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and material lists.
Ensure that all drawings and documentation are accurate, up-to-date, and comply with industry standards and regulations.
Assist in the preparation of permits and submission drawings for regulatory approval.
Quality Assurance
Review and verify drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to design specifications.
Conduct site visits to gather measurements including preparation of sketches, assess site conditions, and ensure proper installation of signage.
Address and resolve any design issues or discrepancies that arise during the project lifecycle.
Software Proficiency
Utilize AutoCAD software to produce high-quality technical drawings.
Stay updated with the latest AutoCAD features, tools, and best practices.
Utilize other design software as needed, such as Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop, for presentation purposes.
Qualifications
Education: Diploma or degree in Drafting, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in drafting and designing signage using AutoCAD.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant design software.
Strong understanding of design principles, materials, and construction methods related to signage.
