Job Description

Accounting Project Manager holds the responsibility for reviewing current accounting operations, recommending a new model, and once approved, establishing and overseeing all back-office finance functions within the organization.   • Evaluate a heavily decentralized accounting operation and explore a shared services set-up, providing best-in-class accounting services to the business at competitive costs. The role starts with transformational leadership
  • Develop the initial setup plan for the finance shared service team, including organizational structure, roles, responsibilities, and reporting lines.
  • Once approved, lead the recruitment, onboarding, and training of team members for the newly established shared service function.
  • Define and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and protocols for the shared service team to ensure consistency and alignment with organizational goals.
Team Leadership and Management:
  • Lead and manage a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, direction, and performance feedback.
  • Develop and nurture a high-performing and collaborative team environment.
Process Optimization and Efficiency:
  • Streamline finance processes and procedures to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness in financial operations.
  • Implement best practices to optimize resource allocation and maximize productivity including adapting leading digital/RPA solutions to drive productivity
Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies related to finance operations.
  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls to mitigate financial risks and safeguard company assets, leveraging automation and ERP systems
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
  • Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of financial reports, ensuring they are in line with accounting standards and organizational requirements.
  • Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations for improving financial performance and decision-making.
Stakeholder Relationship Management:
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and effective communication to support financial objectives and strategies.
Process Improvement and Innovation:
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial processes, systems, and technologies, seeking innovative solutions to optimize operations.
Job RequirementsQualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CMA, ACCA) is highly desirable.
Experience
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in finance and accounting roles, with progressively increasing responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in setting up from scratch and then managing finance shared services or similar functions.
Knowledge & Skills
  • In-depth knowledge of finance and accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Strong understanding of shared services models, processes, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and software (e.g., ERP systems, financial reporting tools).
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
