The Role

Responsibilities: Server Administration: o Manage and administer Windows Server environments, ensuring high availability, reliability, and security. o Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server operating systems and related software, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy. Active Directory Management: o Design, implement, and maintain Active Directory infrastructure, including domains, forests, trusts, and organizational units (OUs). o Manage user accounts, groups, permissions, and access controls in Active Directory environments. Patch Management: o Develop and implement patch management strategies for Windows Server systems, ensuring systems are up-to-date with the latest security patches and updates. o Plan and execute patch deployments, minimizing downtime and impact on production environments. Backup and Recovery: o Implement and maintain backup and recovery solutions for Windows Server environments, ensuring data integrity and system availability. o Perform regular backups and test recovery procedures to mitigate the risk of data loss. Performance Monitoring and Optimization: o Monitor server performance metrics and identify areas for improvement. o Optimize server configurations and resource allocation to ensure optimal performance and scalability. Security Compliance: o Ensure Windows Server systems are compliant with relevant security standards and regulations. o Implement security best practices and configurations to protect against unauthorized access and data breaches. Virtualization: o Configure and manage virtualized environments using Hyper-V or VMware, including virtual machine (VM) provisioning, migration, and resource management. Disaster Recovery Planning: o Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing activities to ensure Windows Server systems are resilient to potential disasters. o Document and maintain disaster recovery procedures and runbooks for reference during emergency situations. Documentation and Reporting: o Maintain comprehensive documentation of server configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. o Generate regular reports on server performance, capacity, and security compliance for management and audit purposes.



Requirements

Requirements: o Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. o 8-10 years of experience in Windows Server administration. o Expertise in managing Windows Server operating systems, including Windows Server 2012/2016/2019. o Proficiency in Active Directory administration, including domain controller configuration, user management, and group policy management. o Strong knowledge of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN. o Experience with backup and recovery solutions for Windows Server environments, such as Windows Server Backup, Veeam, or Commvault. o Familiarity with virtualization technologies, such as Hyper-V or VMware. o Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues. o Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. o Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), VMware Certified Professional (VCP)) are highly desirable.
