Overview: The Senior Water Utility Engineer is responsible for overseeing the design, installation, and management of water utility systems for large-scale infrastructure projects. This role requires expertise in water distribution, sewage, and stormwater management, with a focus on ensuring the systems are designed, constructed, and maintained in compliance with local regulations and sustainability standards. The Senior Engineer will supervise on-site installations, coordinate with other engineering disciplines, and ensure project completion within budget and on schedule.
Responsibilities:
Design Review and Approval: Review and approve water utility system designs, ensuring compliance with project specifications, local regulations, and sustainability standards. Provide feedback to enhance design efficiency and robustness.
Site Supervision and Project Management: Oversee the installation and testing of water utility systems, such as pipelines, pumping stations, and treatment plants. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Coordination with Other Disciplines: Collaborate with civil, mechanical, and electrical engineers to integrate water utility systems into broader infrastructure projects.
Quality Control and Compliance: Implement quality control procedures to ensure all installations meet local standards, with a focus on water quality and environmental sustainability.
Technical Issue Resolution: Address and resolve technical challenges related to water utility systems during construction, working with design and construction teams to find effective solutions.
Client Liaison and Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for water utility-related matters, providing updates to the client and ensuring that their requirements are met.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of progress, quality control, and compliance certifications, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed for project handover.
Competency Requirements:
Proven experience as a Senior Water Utility Engineer in large-scale infrastructure projects, particularly in international PMC contracts.
Extensive hands-on experience in water utility system design, supervision, and quality control.
Strong understanding of water distribution, sewage, and stormwater systems, and their integration into complex infrastructure projects.
Proficiency in engineering software and project management tools.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
For BSc Holders: Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering with over 15 years of experience.
For MSc Holders: Master's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering with over 12 years of experience.
Professional Membership: Chartered membership in CIWEM, ICE, or equivalent.
Professional Experience: 12-15 years of water utility engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
Other Skills:
Excellent communication skills (listening, verbal & written).
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
