We're seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Vice President, Growth Ventures to join our Growth Ventures team. This role is located in Dubai.
Growth Ventures is a business unit within BNY that focuses on the intersection of technology and financial markets. Our mandate is to build new platforms that leverage BNY's scale and core assets to capture new growth areas, and bring these solutions to market through a combination of organic, inorganic, and partnership approaches. In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
Incubate new commercial opportunities from inception (analytically identifying opportunity); to structuring (commercial model; inside/outside bank); to agreement with Business Leaders (for input and support) through to launch
Conduct financial and strategic analysis to develop fact-based insights and recommendations for business unit initiatives. Analysis involves assessing market trends and the competitive landscape and evaluating strategic alternatives
Work with subject-matter experts within the company to define these new offerings across their technical, commercial and operational aspects
Manage projects end to end across internal and external stakeholders
Work with functional experts within the company to structure and execute partnerships and JVs with strategic and financial partners
Maintains a strong external orientation, and provides market "intelligence" from clients, industry, and other thought leaders
Partner with Chief Growth Officer and Head of Business Development and Execution on special projects as requested
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
Top-tier management consulting, investment banking, or buy-side investing experience is required
Willingness to roll up sleeves and own projects end to end across strategic, analytical, and project-management aspects
Bias for urgency and action
Self-starter with extreme levels of ownership and with limited need for oversight
Strong relationship-building, negotiation and influencing skills, internally and externally
Commercial focus on growing the bottom-line while mitigating/managing risk
Intellectual curiosity: desire to constantly learn and continuously improve
Knowledge of financial services industry including client segments, business models, key incumbents and new entrants, significant trends, and outlook
Demonstrate excellent judgement and a fact-based approach to evaluation and decision making
Strong communication and presentation skills (both verbally and in writing); able to articulate complex information in a clear and simple manner to a variety of audiences
Strong leadership: calm presence and ability to instill confidence in key stakeholders, internally and externally
Consummate professional; able to navigate a matrixed organization
