Accept mission tasking requests from the User and perform mission planning.
Be involved in regular competency training inclusive of the use of simulations in order to practice for in-flight emergencies (save the aircraft and prevent collateral damage as far as is practicable for cases where there might be partial UAV failure).
Perform possible UAV deployment site inspections and participate in defining operational logistics actions with the deployment team.
Participate in UAV ground system deployment, testing and calibration actions.
Participate in pre and post mission briefings.
Perform aircraft pre-flight inspections, testing and calibration actions.
Perform any required air traffic control actions to ensure UAV and personnel safety.
Help to perform information extraction from the payload data that is obtained.

See to mission reporting and data distribution.
Take part in any Board of Inquiry (BOI) that might be convened from time-to-time.
Support the OEM system test activities as regards system upgrades (such as ground station software updates).
Perform PRACAS actions so as to ensure that the UAV metrics are continuously improved.
Take part in any internal and external quality assurance audits that might take place in UAV operational context.
Perform operator console functions and interactions to ensure that the UAV performs the required mission as tasked.
Perform mentoring and training actions aimed at ensuring that newcomer operators are certificated as part of the succession plan.
To organize available manpower in the operations facility (operators) in a manner to enable maximum effectiveness and resource utilization.
Education & Experience:
A pilot qualification with an instrument rating is required for the UAV that controls the flight path.
A formal tertiary technical qualification (technical diploma or degree) in the fields of computers, electronics or mechanics is advisable.
Willingness to carry out national/international security related missions under harsh and demanding environmental conditions.
Basic Aeronautical and UAS specific knowledge to effectively operate UAS as per OEM documentation.
Basic Knowledge of Internal and External Flight Control procedures as per UAS Class, Type as well as Standard Aviation flight procedures. Capability to comply with ATC instructions.
Basic Knowledge of UAS specific Ground/Flight software and UAS documentation, documentation structure and standard aviation documentation procedures.
