:Wood is currently recruiting for Senior Technical Safety Engineer to strengthen our team in Dubai with possible trips to Iraq if the Client required.Responsibilities:
Thorough knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of Technical Safety & Loss Prevention engineering methodologies, software systems, and design practices as they relate to FEED, Detail Design, Construction, Commissioning, and plant Start-up.
Perform Safety screening of project scopes.
Hands on experience of conducting Hazardous Area Classification, Safety layout Assessment, Emergency escape route assessment.
Experience in Fire engineering activities like Fire Zone determination, Firewater demand calculations and Firewater network hydraulics.
Participating and preparing reports for project HAZOP, HAZID, SIL studies, and other safety workshops when required.
Able to perform Physical Hazard Effects (PHE) modelling and able to review Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA).
Experience in conducting F&G mapping.
Co-ordinating with other disciplines during all stages of design development, construction, pre-commissioning, and start-up.
Providing technical support to site as required.
Producing and reviewing specifications, data sheets, schedules, study reports, and design calculations; ensuring that they conform to engineering quality, competence, and project management systems.
Attend client meetings and communicate issues with lead engineer as required.
Ensure self-awareness of relevant regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives and industry technology developments.
Thorough awareness of international codes and standards.
Actively maintains own competence according to standards and pursues continuous professional development.
Must be willing to make occasional visits to Iraq.
Qualifications:
BEng or equivalent with relevant experience
Chartered Engineer or recognized equivalent experience preferred
Experience of Concept / FEED / Detail Engineering project phases
8-10 years relevant experience in the oil and gas industry
Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage
