Further information about Lear is available at lear.com, or follow us on Twitter @LearCorporation We are looking for Senior System Team Leader to develop the career path of the team you will be managing, ensure their evolvement in terms of technical knowhow, process deployment and soft skills development. Besides you will be responsible to manage the execution of one or two ECU development projects, leading the system development activities over the whole lifecycle (from requirements analysis to system testing) and driving the system teams to achieve defined program quality, cost and delivery objectives. Thereby the role acts as interface for the system aspects of a program towards the customer, external partners and internal groups.
Your Missions
Build and follow up strategies for team management to improve team technical knowhow and soft skills capabilities Follow up team contribution in their projects and support them in day-to-day challenges Communicate to your team organization strategies and vision, answer their doubts, and transfer their queries if needed. Review and update the resources supply versus demand from projects Ensure keeping defined cost, quality and timing targets in all System development & maintenance projects in his/her scope. Actively drive customer change management to keep SYS development budgets in target Plan and negotiate the system team's capacity needs together with SYS line management in our resource management tool on a monthly basis Establish on the basis of the customer's milestone and feature release plans an overall system project plan (milestones, features, resources, work packages) Manage the set-up of the product development project. Track regularly the planned progress vs. actual achievement (schedule, scope, cost and quality) and define corrective actions in case of deviations (weekly SYS team meeting) Manage the resolution of critical problems (reported by customer or plant) and drive them rapidly to its closure Ensure compliance to system process & quality standards Report product system status regularly to senior management (weekly status report and regular management review meetings) Provide resource plan as major input for financial planning and forecasting in timely fashion (monthly) Provide information for purchase orders (work scope and schedule for external work packages) in timely fashion Provide feedback on performance of project team members for appraisals in timely fashion (typically twice a year, on request or as required) Closely align with line managers for important project matters (e.g. major schedule confirmation to customer, resolution of critical production problems, budget) Lead, coordinate and perform system RFQ activities: requirements analysis, implementation concept (incl. SYS architecture, System safety), risk analysis, estimation of effort and cost Provide the defined set of documentation for the system part of a RFQ to the overall RFQ lead Deliver system process improvements (6 months) Define process customizations for the system scope, get approval and manage their introduction as per agreed schedule
To Be Successful For This Role
Knowledge of the project management tools used in the organization Knowledge of the development processes established in the organization & project Knowledge of the traceability procedures Knowledge of the Functional Safety procedures & techniques established in the organization and project Knowledge of industry applicable standards (i.e. Automotive SPICE, CMMI, ISO 26262) Knowledge of estimation methods 7 years of successful professional experience in a similar position in Automotive or 5 years in system engineering inside LEAR.
