We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Surveyor (Master Mariner) to join our team of Maritime experts in technically supporting all marine casualties of any type and size worldwide.

What you will be doing.

As our Senior Surveyor (Master Mariner), you will conduct marine surveying tasks and assist in business delivery to provide sufficient surveyor coverage in the geographic area of responsibility. You should also be familiar with all aspects of ABL Maritime services and key deliverables. To undertake own chargeable time. In addition, you will:

• Learn and familiarise yourself with all aspects of ABL Maritime services and key deliverables.
• Attend casualties and determine the nature, extent, and cause of damage.
• Estimate costs of repairs and subsequently compile reports for clients.
• Maintain daily working timesheets and close out reports and advice promptly.
• Review and monitor project WIP ensuring it is kept to a minimum.
• QA deliverables and ensure the quality of the product.
• Assist and/or lead projects (as assigned) to accomplish the overall delivery of optimum solutions to customers within the timeframe, costs and quality standards established by ABL and/or the client.
• Attend regular internal meetings and external/third-party meetings as required.
• Maintain and develop new and existing clients through appropriate propositions and relevant liaison to optimise quality of service, business growth and client satisfaction.
• Business development activities & marketing, including the promotion of all ABL business lines with local and international clients.
• Support the Regional Management team in growing the business.
• Provide training, mentoring and motivation to subordinates.
• And other duties as assigned.

The role is based in Dubai and the incumbent will have the right to work and reside in Dubai. Relocation assistance, if required, will be offered to the right candidate.

Flexibility and willingness to travel and work within a variety of time zones - offshore travel is a requirement of the job and working weekends.

What we are looking for.

We seek driven and solution-oriented professionals with sound technical skills and good decision-making capabilities. The successful candidates will have good communication and interpersonal skills, strong leadership ability, and be able to deal effectively with multiple issues and assignments simultaneously. In addition, you will:

• Master Mariner (STCW II/2) with 5 years of seagoing experience in a senior officer\'s capacity or equivalent qualifications with significant marine consultancy-related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the maritime industry.
• Good decision-making capability with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus.
• Have strong communication skills and a good command of written and spoken English.

Desired Skills:

• Shore-based experience.
• Previous experience from a similar role.
• Other applicable experience (Salvage Master, SCR, Pilot, Marine/Technical Superintendent, Ship Repair Manager etc).
• Experience with marine surveying or consultancy.
