Senior Specialist, Commercial Trade Analyst

Purpose of the role


We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Commercial Trade (Gross to Net) Analytics and Intelligence expert. This role is critical in enabling data-driven decision-making and providing actionable insights to support our organization's EBITDA and working capital objectives. The nature of this role is global, addressing the organization's needs across an international footprint that spans over 140 markets and encompasses more than 60 medicines and products across various therapeutic areas. The position is part of Global Business Services and plays an integral role within the Global Access, Insights & Trade division, specifically focusing on Global Commercial Trade Channels.

Main responsibilities

• Perform in-depth analyses of Gross Sales, Gross to Net components, and Net Sales, including prices, volumes, discounts, sales allowances, chargebacks, returns, and expired goods, on a therapeutic area, product, SKU, and channel levels to identify trends and opportunities.
• Develop analytical capabilities and generate actionable insights into working capital components, such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory levels, to support financial health.
• Evaluate product profitability, related promotional expenses, and direct selling costs to optimize financial performance and resource allocation.
• Assess market trade dynamics, various go-to-market models, and competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions and enhance market positioning.
• Create and maintain detailed periodical and ad-hoc reports, Power BI dashboards, and visualizations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders effectively.
• Provide data-driven actionable insights to senior management to drive business growth, operational efficiency, and improved financial outcomes.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including market and above market commercial and finance, Global Delivery Operations, Treasury, Procurement and Manufacturing & Supply, BT to align analytics initiatives with organizational goals.
• Enhance, design, and implement analytical tools and models to streamline data processing and enhance decision-making capabilities.
• Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of trade strategies and initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
• Stay updated with market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments, leveraging this intelligence to maintain a competitive edge and inform business strategies.
• Identify and implement process improvements within scope of work to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the analytics function.
• This role demands a high level of analytical expertise, a global perspective, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable business strategies.

Your profile

• Minimum a bachelor's degree.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial finance, analytics, business intelligence, or pricing analytics
• Proven experience in a multinational corporation, preferably within the pharmaceutical sector, with regional or global exposure.
• Hands-on experience with ERP suites (e.g., S/4HANA).
• Advanced expertise in Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with pricing strategies and analysis methodologies.
• Proven track record of collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating large volumes of information.
• Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
• Exceptional listening and communication skills, especially with diverse stakeholders and senior leadership
• Ability to distill complex discussions into actionable points.
• Prioritization skills, adhering to delivery timelines and roadmaps.
• Flexibility in addressing changing priorities and challenges.
• Ability to make informed decisions, take calculated risks, and escalate issues promptly.
• Cross-functional collaboration and demonstrated leadership.
• Familiarity with pricing strategies and pharmaceutical data analytics providers
• Strong commercial and financial understanding.
