Job TitleSenior Specialist - Climate ChangeBusinessENOCJob PurposeImplement a low-carbon operating model for ENOC Group that includes diversifying operations to broader energy production, ideally with a growing focus on renewables, by investing in necessary capital assets as well as research and development of low carbon energy sources for reducing GHG emission intensity and accelerating the net zero process.Collect data and review them for further development of various climate scenarios to assess physical climate risks and asset vulnerability, with a focus on how the frequency and severity of climate risks may change over time, to establish Group and ENOC BU level procedures to ensure a successful transition to resilient infrastructure, respond to climate-related disasters in upstream supply, midstream storage, and downstream consumption.Play a pivotal role in leading the company\'s efforts to address climate change challenges while ensuring the sustainability of our operations.Principal AccountabilitiesCollaborate with senior management to formulate the company\'s climate change strategy and policies. Monitor global and regional climate policies and trends and advise on potential impacts and opportunities for the company.Collect and compile data for undertaking detailed carbon footprint assessments across ENOC\'s operations. Analyze emerging climate technologies and recommend potential areas of investment or deployment within the company.Collect and review data for implementing strategies to reduce ENOC\'s greenhouse gas emissions, including the identification of emission sources and the adoption of low carbon technologies. Evaluate carbon offset and carbon capture and storage (CCS) oppo1tunities to mitigate emissions effectively. Collaborate with external R&D teams to understand the feasibility, benefits, and challenges of deploying new technologies.Collect and review data for establishing ENOC Group\'s GHG Scope 3 emission baselines for determining ENOC\'s accurate GHG emission profile for further establishing ENOC\'s true exposure to climate-related risks and further assessing ENOC\'s exposure to climate-intensive activities and products to mitigate transition risk, which could significantly impact ENOC asset values and operating costs throughout the value chain.Conduct advanced climate modelling and analysis to understand the potential impacts of climate change on the company\'s operations and vice versa. Utilize climate models to project future climate scenarios, including temperature changes, extreme weather events, and sea-level rise, which could affect the company\'s assets and supply chain. Provide insights into the potential impacts, risks, and oppo1tunities of different climate change trajectories for the organization.Stay updated on various available model and benchmark to select one to prepare scenario models to predict potential future climate-related scenarios, using both qualitative and quantitative data. Conduct pathway analyses to chart plausible courses of action towards achieving the company\'s sustainability and climate change goals.Assist in developing pilot projects to test the efficacy of new technological solutions. Stay updated with the latest advancements in carbon capture, storage, utilization, and other related fields to ensure the company remains at the forefront of technological adoption.Assist Manager Climate Change and Sustainability in conducting a due diligence and technical-economic analysis of the proposed new business opportunities and make recommendations for potential cost-cutting opportunities to improve project attractiveness.Conduct climate-related, physical, and transition risks analysis to align corporate financing with a just transition approach that considers the impact of the transition on ENOC and suggest the most feasible mitigation measures to ensure minimal stranded assets within the ENOC Group\'s value chain.Conduct review and analysis of various preventive actions to reduce residual risk at the ALARP level after careful review and analysis of various sustainability and climate related risk control methods and activities implemented by ENOC BUs and design preventive actions.Develop and implement key performance indicators (KP!s) related-to mitigating climate-related risks and to foster a performance-driven culture. Recommend a strategic approach to drive the ENOC group to measure and monitor the sustainability impacts of its processes on a regular basis, as well as to establish the ENOC Sustainability Index with KPIs, short- and long-term targets.Collect and review data for utilizingAdditional Principal Accountabilitiescutting edge technology and data analytics to improve the sustainability performance of ENOC BUs.Compile various external market trend analysis on sustainability and climate change and recommend appropriate government, public, private, and non-government organizations for benchmarking ENOC\'s climate mitigation performance for continual improvement as well as positioning ENOC at the forefront globally.Collaborate with the ENOC Group finance team to discuss with various investors for presenting company\'s climate change mitigation initiatives and future for further consideration in their informed investment decisions.Compile and present various global, regional, and local policy responses to climate change in terms of adaptation, mitigation, and geoengineering, and provide timely updates to the ENOC Group\'s sustainability strategy and related policies.Establish, update, and implement appropriate policies, processes, systems, standards, procedures and internal controls, company manuals and guidelines to support execution of the team\'s work programs in accordance with Company and International standards.Prepare accurate and succinct briefing papers and presentations for ENOC\'s Leadership team based on information compiled from industry research including, but not limited to, interpretation and application of policy relating to climate change.Collaborate with relevant R&D centers and Operations teams to integrate sustainability and climate resilience into ENOC\'s products, services, and processes. Recommend partnerships with universities, research institutions, and technology companies to stay at the forefront of sustainability and climate science.Prepare a suitable program to enhance the skills and competency level of the young UAE Nationals to drive the agenda of Climate Change according to the aspirations of the Emirate of Dubai and the UAE Government to empower talent, develop skills and build high-quality job opportunities.Deliver technical training programs for ENOC group companies and staff and external interested parties. In addition, identify and train sustainability champions across ENOC Group from various departments to report all the elements required to generate the sustainability report.Ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures, systems & controls and applicable legislation and climate change guidelines across ENOC BU operations.Collect data and compile relevant reports for the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy (DSCE), the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE), the Fujairah Environment Authority (FEA), and others, in advocating for ENOC\'s climate change initiatives and reviewing draft standards and regulations to align with ENOC\'s strategic goals.Collect and review various data on climate change and continuously monitor and analyze ENOC Group\'s climate change mitigation. Collecting relevant information, conducting research on climate-risk related trends for inclusion in various report, and institutionalizing the adoption of best practices and lessons learned to maximize value and ensure long-term solutions are all part of the process.Oversee GHG assurance audits of ENOC BUs and ensure that it is conducted against various standards such as ISAE 3000 and make recommendations for improvement in performance and improve the quality of data repo1ted. Assists in implementation of such management systems that support development of appropriate and well-structured programs on climate change.Prepare application for various awards and ensure sound governance to highlight and report the top-performance and laggards for appropriate rewards and continuous improvement.ExperienceBachelor\'s degree in chemical engineering (or similar is considered with commensurate experience). Ce1tified lead auditor for ISO 50001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, ISO 45001, Equator Principles for risk management; UN Global Compact Principles; Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and preferably at least I-year experience in developing and assessing business excellence models such as EFQM, DQA award etc. Experience in clean development mechanism, Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, COP proceedings, green buildings, sustainable/carbon finance, GHG accounting, life cycle assessments, and sustainability reporting and carbon reduction strategies. Deep knowledge and understanding of oil and gas and energy industry. Strong experience across business and corporate experience would be an added advantage with minimum 10 years\' experience in oil and gas industry. Excellent grasp in technical analysis, research, forecasting and strategy development and good networking with industry thought-leaders and policymakers. Excellent grasp in climate-risk mitigation megatrends and impacting ingraining of appropriate elements into business activities in sh01t-, medium- and long-term. A sound knowledge and technical expertise on scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions. Experience in successful transformation and cultural change in large organization. Awareness in dealing in different markets, global business across multiple organizations, multi-cultural working environment, and geographical interfaces. Analytical and research skills, including data analysis and investigative analytical skills and ability to research and present key information concisely. In-depth understanding of local and international requirements approved models for climate change. Good interpersonal and communication skills, including confident written and verbal communication. Excellent managerial, organisational and presentation skills. High level of computer literacy (e.g., Microsoft Office programs, sustainability repo1ting software, analytical and climate modelling software).
