Provide carbon markets expertise to the Group companies to deliver world-class HSE and asset integrity performance reaching 100% HSE and ensure fair, transparent, and risk-conscious business operations and governanceJob responsibilities :
Analyse evolving policy risks, international compliance and voluntary markets and propose business opportunities for carbon credits and offsets.
Originate, develop and structure carbon monetisation transactions for emission reduction projects.
Develop and provide a deep understanding of carbon credit markets, pricing and regulatory frameworks through ongoing market analysis by identifying emerging trends. Ongoing monitoring and maintenance of large datasets related to these markets.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills :
10 years of professional experience in business economics, accounting, environmental science/engineering, public policy, sustainability, or related discipline or equivalent experience (required relevant experience for job)
3-5 years minimum of relevant work experience in carbon markets and a strong understanding of climate policy developments.
Excellent understanding of the local, regional and global climate policy context, carbon markets and climate finance developments, and/or the corporate sustainability landscape
Energy sector experience in the area(s) of environmental policy and decarbonization, GHG modelling, or environmental policy; corporate sustainability experience; or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in conducting analysis of climate policy, preferably acquired in an international or national agency, or alternatively, in a research institute or organisation conducting relevant policy analysis.
In-depth knowledge and understanding of several aspects of the on-going international climate negotiations and a range of climate policy topics (e.g. mitigation and/or adaptation responses, carbon markets, transparency, climate finance)
