Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Sous Chef specializing in Lebanese cuisine to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess an in-depth knowledge of Lebanese culinary traditions, ingredients, and techniques, with the ability to create authentic and innovative dishes. As a Senior Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Executive Chef to oversee kitchen operations, ensure high-quality food preparation, and lead a team of talented culinary professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Executive Chef in planning and executing the menu with a focus on authentic Lebanese flavors and contemporary presentation.
• Develop and test new recipes while maintaining consistency in taste, quality, and presentation.
• Ensure the kitchen team is trained and skilled in Lebanese cooking techniques, spices, and flavor profiles.
• Lead the kitchen in the Executive Chef's absence, ensuring seamless operation.

Kitchen Management:

• Supervise and coordinate all food preparation and presentation activities in the kitchen.
• Manage kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
• Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage food costs to meet budgetary goals.

Quality Control:

• Conduct regular quality checks of ingredients and finished dishes to ensure the highest standards are met.
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef to maintain consistency in taste, portion sizes, and plating.
• Respond promptly to guest feedback and implement improvements as needed.

Innovation and Creativity:

• Stay updated on culinary trends and incorporate innovative techniques into the menu.
• Work on menu development, seasonal offerings, and special event planning.
• Collaborate with other departments for menu pairing and themed events.

Team Collaboration:

• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging team communication and cohesion.
• Participate in staff meetings, providing input on kitchen operations and strategies for improvement.

Qualifications:

• Experience:
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Sous Chef or higher in a reputable Lebanese restaurant or hotel.
• Proven track record of creating authentic Lebanese dishes with a modern twist.

Education:

• Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience.

Skills:

• Expert knowledge of Lebanese cuisine, including traditional dishes, spices, and cooking techniques.
• Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a diverse team.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Certifications:

• Food Safety and Hygiene Certification (preferred).
