Overview
Solutions Architects are energy industry specialists that help support sales by architecting and performing solution demonstrations ensuring we provide the most valuable solution to our clients based on their specific workflows and needs.
The Solutions Architect supports sales by helping secure the "technical close" by collaborating with functions across the organization from sales, services, development, and other technical resources to ensure proposed deals include the technical solutions that accurately address customer needs. The Solution Architect role helps align key customer decision-makers with the solutions and workflows that Quorum software supports.
Solution Architects have deep product knowledge, good communication and interpersonal skills, knowledge of the oil & gas industry with a specific focus/interest in Upstream and have an aptitude for solving problems.
Responsibilities
•Provide Technical Sales Support which includes:•
• Participate in client meetings, providing the technical expertise as needed
• Participate in Account Plan and Strategic Opportunity Plan preparation and reviews
• Identify opportunities in customers
• Help to define the value proposition for the client
• Work with the account managers to map out the best approach to increase our footprint at a client
• Help manage client interactions and stay connected with the technical leaders in our clients and prospects
• Create product solution presentations that reinforce the value proposition within the prospective customer
• Develop responses to requests for proposals (RFIs and RFPs) as required by the RF• lead
• Participate in trade-shows, user conferences, training, and sales seminars as required
•Understand and Architect client workflows:•
• Understanding client usage and workflow characteristic for specified accounts
• Work with clients to become a "trusted advisor" on their internal processes around Hydrocarbon Accounting
• Occasionally participate in the technical implementations of EnergyComponents
•Provide Software Demonstrations which includes:•
• Deliver consistent high quality software demonstrations to clients as needed by account managers
• Be proficient in our solutions and identify key benefits for target audience
• Prepare client tailored demonstrations in advance, including meeting or talking with the client prior to any presentation
• Actively participate in the Solutions Architect company-wide processes and knowledge learning
•Best Practice Design which includes:•
• Work on developing corporate standards for optimal workflows based on our software suite.
• Documentation of both internal and client standards and best practice workflows
• Perform the early discovery work to design the "optimal" positioning of the EnergyComponents product suite within a potential client or expanding into an existing client
• Work with Product Management to ensure clients expectations and plans are aligned with the development timeline
• Maintain industry, market, and product knowledge, as well as, stay abreast of competitor's products, technology and offerings. Further, maintain knowledge of appropriate technology evolution
• Pro-actively share within the Solution Architect group the key demonstrations and knowledge learned with customers
And other duties as assigned.
Requirements
• Post-secondary education in a technical or business-related discipline
• 10+ years of oil & gas industry experience or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of experience with Energy Components.
• Candidates with very long experience from similar Hydrocarbon accounting/Production Data Management tools will also be considered.
• Excellent knowledge of Energy Components.
• Experience in mapping out client workflows and comparing to Quorum best practices
• Excellent knowledge of general oil & gas upstream processes and workflows
• Strong technical aptitude and understanding of technology
• Usage of Business Intelligence tools, data query and Analysis (OData, SSAS)
• Proficient using technical business systems; e.g. Microsoft Office
• Excellent technical skills - quickly learning software and using it to solve problems
• Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills and a professional demeanor
• Ability to meet with customers and prospects within the ME region in order to help advance the sales cycle
• Strong interpersonal skills and confidence to conduct discussions with prospects or customers in both technical and senior management roles

• Ability to communicate effectively and fluently in English to conduct demonstrations and meetings with customers
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal
Additional Details
• Travel: Ability to travel internationally 30-50%. Must have a valid passport.
