The Role
Our Multi National Project & Commercial Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Senior / Lead Site Architect to join their team in Abu Dhabi to work on major new mixed use and residential developments. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Senior or Lead Site Architect on major projects in the UAE or wider GCC. This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire permanent opportunity employed by our client. Responsibilities - As the site lead Architect, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring delivery of multiple residential focused, mixed-use projects is in accordance to the Employer's requirements, acting as the Client's representative on site. You are responsible for delivering a proactive process-orientated approach to manage the design, development and implementation of the project, acting as the bridge link between the client and contractor teams. Throughout the entire post-contract stage, you will manage the design processes in construction including the effective planning, scheduling, coordination and communication between our client, the contractor and their design team. - Ability to undertake technical reviews acting as technical advisor to all necessary stakeholder parties. - Reporting internally to senior management within the clients team on design matters and site issues - Report and track design approvals required by the Client team - Co-ordinating the preparation of schedules and inspections, tests, mock-ups and samples. - Assistance with the preparation of tender documentation and reviewing submissions. - Co-ordinating quality control systems. - Co-ordinating the issue and production information from contractors, and the review of designs prepared by the contractors. - Co-ordinating procedures for inspections, commissioning, testing and client training. - Implement and Manage change control procedures and documentation. - Chair design coordination / progress workshops with the Contractor and his design team. - Identifying any potential emerging risks. - Managing change, and effective information transfer through RFI processes. - Aligning design development to ensure it complies with the brief, requirements for statutory authority approvals, but also importantly to the suitable level of detail and accuracy required for the implementation phase. - Review, on behalf of the Client, the Operations and Maintenance manuals to ensure that the Client is informed of the necessary information to care and operated the final building project - Review the necessary warranties of the project's elements in line with the design brief and contract. - Review and approval of design materials and samples, including being responsible for suggesting alternative solutions, products, systems when applicable. - Design Management experience. - Change management controls experience.
Requirements
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field from an accredited institution. - At least 10 years of professional experience, with a proven history of performing similar role on construction projects in the Middle East with at least 5 years of experience in the Middle East. - Experience working for developer clients performing the role of Client representative at post contract stage. - Strong project management skills, including experience in coordinating project teams, budgets, and schedules to ensure successful project outcomes. - Demonstrated leadership abilities, with the capacity to inspire, motivate, and empower team members to reach their full potential. - Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients, stakeholders, and project partners. - Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit and Lumion preferable. - Comprehensive knowledge of sustainable design principles, green building standards, and environmental regulations relevant to projects in the Middle East. - Comprehensive knowledge of Health and Safety regulations in Abu Dhabi. - Comprehensive knowledge of Municipality codes and regulations and applicable permissions of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
