Title:Senior Scheduler
The Senior Scheduler plays a crucial role in the successful execution of a portfolio of Programmes, Districts, Mega Projects and Projects. They oversee and manage all aspects of Planning & Scheduling ensuring effective large volume data management, baselining, quality assured progress outputs, forecasts, trends and monitoring to drive and achieve both innovative and established goals within scope, budget, time, quality and risk management constraints.
The role requires a comprehensive understanding of Project Management principles, exceptional leadership skills and a deep knowledge of Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) processes. The unique construct of the KBR delivery environment focusses the need for an ability to collaborate with a wide range of key stakeholders at Executive, Client, Programme, Project and Supply Chain level, and more broadly across industry.
Reporting to the Planning Manager, the Senior Scheduler is responsible for every aspect of Planning & Scheduling for the Programme, including integration, collaboration and liaison internally with KBR Teams, with the wider Client Project Controls Team, Client Delivery and Developments Teams, Design, PMO and PMC Teams and all Supply Chain Teams to ensure that success factors, requirements and expectations are always surpassed.
The Diriyah Gate II (DII) project, located on the Western outskirts of Riyadh, is a 7.1 million square-metre major infrastructure programme and mixed-use development aiming to be a global landmark, recognized for its unique vision and position as an authentic destination in Riyadh. The Diriyah Gate community will be a distinct, self-sustaining hub for Riyadh offering a wide range of iconic assets. KBR provide Project Management Consultancy Services in Project Controls, Project Planning, Design and Engineering Management, as well as implementation of development and early works packages.
Responsibilities: Reporting directly to the KBR Planning Manager, with accountable responsibilities to the Programme Director and the Project Controls Director, to become an integrated, collaborative and proactive member of the DII KBR PMC1 Planning and Scheduling Team. To be accountable for defining, implementing and maintaining Planning and Scheduling data, metrics, reports and information frameworks in compliance with best-in-class Planning and Scheduling standards, policies, procedures, protocols and systems, thereby facilitating efficient and highly effective Project Management and Execution. To be a subject matter expert in the compilation, development, management, progression and maintenance of project schedules across design, engineering, procurement, logistics, execution, commissioning and maintenance stages of programme and project development. To be an expert level user of Primavera P6 and EPPM structures. To be expert in the production and compilation of Planning & Scheduling reports in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel. To be fully conversant with Power BI, PowerApps and PMIS systems, software and use. The Senior Scheduler will compile, implement, progress and manage all elements of Baseline Schedules, including but not limited to: Scopes-of-Work. Work Breakdown Structures (WBS). Organisational Breakdown Structures (OBS). Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS). Project Coding(s). Project Milestones & Key Events. Activity Definitions. Logical Relationships. Critical Path Analysis (CPM). Cash Flow Analysis (CFA). Resource & Productivity Compilation and Analysis. Benchmarking. Basis of Schedule (BoS) Documentation.
The Senior Scheduler will compile, implement, progress and manage all elements of Schedule Preparation and Review, including but not limited to: Maintenance of the Programme Wide Integrated Master Schedule (IMS). Progress and Event Impacts on Critical Paths and Near Critical Activities. Schedule Deviations and Variances. Project Resource Plans and Needs Including Productivity Rate Analysis. Target, Option, Recovery and Mitigation Schedules and Narrative Analysis. Time Phased Records of Schedule Change, Reasons for Delays, Mitigations and Changes. Drumbeat, Periodic and Ad-Hoc Planning and Scheduling Reports to the Planning Manager. Assist with Reports Required by the Project Controls Director and Programme Director. Analysis of Specific Time elated Events and Issues and Compilation of Proposals for Remedy. Scope Changes and Earned-Value-Analysis (EVM). Maintenance of Accurate and Comprehensive As-Built Records. The Senior Scheduler will additionally be accountable for the following scope within their defined area of Programme Planning and Scheduling responsibility, within the Programme and Projects: CPA and QSRA analysis of schedules and schedule data. Integration, collaboration, communication and liaison for Planning and Scheduling inputs and outputs with KBR & Client Teams, inclusive of: Procurement / Commercial / Technical / Design / Delivery / Developments / Strategy / Logistics / Construction / Infrastructure / Masterplanning / Environmental / Health and Safety. Integration, collaboration, communication and liaison for Planning and Scheduling inputs and outputs with KBR Project Control counterparts, inclusive of: Project Controls / Performance and Reporting / Risk Management / Change Management / PMIS / BIM / Digital Transformation / Quality Management / Document Control. Design Consultant and Construction Contractor scheduling and compliance with KBR and Client processes and contracts. To be accountable for providing leadership insight on breakdown structures, coding structures, interdependencies, baselines, trends, forecasts and performance, along with Subject Matter Expert (SME) advice to Senior Leaders in managing the successful delivery of KBR Programme and Projects. Contribute to the development and implementation of Planning and Scheduling strategies aligned with organizational objectives, ensuring effective Planning and Scheduling practices are established and followed throughout the Project Lifecycle. Contribute to the supporting, challenging and influencing of Senior Leaders to ensure 'best for KBR and Client' decisions and assist with ensuring that the vertical Supply Chain, at all levels, develop and deliver Planning and Scheduling Reports in accordance with leadership requirements. Work with leaders across KBR and Clients to highlight trends and performance insights. Undertake self-assessment of procedural compliance and sharing lessons learnt, and best practice within the Project Controls community. Essential: Degree (BSc, BA, BEng) level professional qualification in Project Management, Project Controls or Engineering disciplines, or equivalent experience. Essential: A minimum of 15 years of relevant industry and Planning and Scheduling experience with proven, extensive and demonstrable experience in Planning and Scheduling delivery within the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) industry. Essential: A demonstrable track record of successfully contributing to complex and high value Programmes, Mega Projects and Projects. Essential: A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in similar volume Programme and Projects and a minimum of 5 years of Middle East regional experience, managing and working with diverse Teams and people. Essential: A high standard of spoken and written English. Essential: A commitment to future learning and education in industry innovation, development and change with a demonstrable recent record of Continued Professional Development (CPD). Desirable: Membership of a role appropriate cognate Professional Institute or recognised Certificates of Learning and Competence. Desirable: Arabic language skills.
