Parsons, a global leader in transportation and infrastructure engineering, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Rolling Stock Engineer to join our Project Management Consultant (PMC) team for a landmark metro project. This role involves overseeing the design, procurement, testing, commissioning, and integration of rolling stock systems to ensure compliance with project requirements, international standards, and operational objectives.As the clientxe2x80x99s representative, you will work closely with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to provide technical oversight, ensure seamless integration of rolling stock with other systems, and deliver a state-of-the-art metro fleet that meets safety, reliability, and performance benchmarks.Key Responsibilities:Design and Technical Oversight:
Review and validate the design and technical specifications of rolling stock, including propulsion, braking, HVAC, and onboard systems.
Ensure compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and operational needs.
Procurement Support:
Provide technical input during the procurement process, including reviewing vendor proposals, specifications, and contract documents.
Participate in vendor evaluations and provide recommendations for equipment selection.
Testing and Commissioning:
Oversee factory acceptance tests (FAT), type tests, routine tests, and site acceptance tests (SAT) for rolling stock.
Ensure rolling stock is commissioned in alignment with project milestones and operational requirements.
Integration and Interoperability:
Ensure seamless integration of rolling stock with signaling systems (e.g., CBTC), telecommunications, power supply, and depot facilities.
Validate that onboard systems align with station and operational infrastructure.
Compliance and Standards:
Ensure rolling stock systems meet safety, reliability, and quality standards, adhering to international norms (e.g., EN, ISO, IEC).
Address cybersecurity concerns related to onboard systems and ensure compliance with relevant protocols.
Risk Management:
Identify potential risks in the rolling stock lifecycle and develop mitigation strategies.
Manage issues related to manufacturing, delivery, and integration to ensure project timelines are met.
Documentation and Reporting:
Review and approve technical documentation, including designs, test plans, and as-built drawings.
Prepare progress reports, highlighting risks, achievements, and next steps for project stakeholders.
Training and Handover:
Support training programs for operational and maintenance teams.
Oversee the handover of rolling stock to the client, ensuring all documentation and spares are provided.
