Job Description

JOB SUMMARY & SCOPE OF RESPONSBILITIES As a member of the reservoir engineering group: Builds and maintains reservoir engineering models and coaches the community on simulation tasks Contributes, supports and delivers reservoir engineering tasks using appropriate tools and solutions Monitors reservoir performance to ensure GSA forecasts can be met and value from oil developments are maximised Provides input to the Hydrocarbon Resource Maturation Process Supports the assessment and evaluation processes for new exploration blocks and/or new business opportunities PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Reservoir and Field Development Planning Actively provides quality and timely contribution to all Reservoir Engineering related activities Provides reservoir engineering input to the key business areas, including but not limited to, field development reservoir studies, field and well production forecasts, WRFM planning and takes an active role in development of asset reference plans Supports and provides quality and timely input to other subsurface disciplines Plays an active role in the project and business planning process Works in close cooperation with other subsurface disciplines and drilling and operations team Promotes the quantification and management of uncertainty in the upstream business Reservoir Characterization Contributes to RE data acquisition projects/studies (PVT, Well Tests, Pressure Surveillance, core data etc) including planning, field execution, data management and data interpretation during well drilling and for surveillance activities Builds, updates, and validates reservoir simulation models using industry-standard software (Eclipse, INTERSECT and Petrel) Integrates static models, well logs, core data, and production history into dynamic simulations Performs assisted and manual history matching to ensure the model accurately reflects past reservoir performance Conducts sensitivity analysis to assess the impact of reservoir uncertainties on development plans Generates production forecasts and assesses recovery factors under various development scenarios Evaluates and optimizes wells' placement, production strategies, and injection schemes (e.g., water, gas, CO injection) Works closely with geoscientists, petrophysicists, drilling and production engineers to ensure the model reflects all subsurface uncertainties Prepares technical reports and presentations for stakeholders, management, and joint venture partners Supports decision-making through clear communication of simulation results and their implications Reservoir Performance Monitoring and Surveillance Monitors the reservoir performance on a continuous basis in order to maintain production levels Conducts material balance analysis, decline curve analysis, pressure transient analysis, and rate transient analysis to evaluate reservoir behaviour Designs surveillance plans, including well testing and pressure surveys Identifies and mitigates risks related to reservoir performance Collaborates with production engineers to optimize production rates and identify underperforming wells Reporting and Communication Conscientiously documents all work carried out in appropriate form and provides management and stakeholders with all relevant materials and reports Maintains and exhibits excellent working relationships with all Crescent Petroleum staff and contractors Prepares detailed technical reports and presentations for management and joint venture partners Effectively communicates reservoir management plans and results to multidisciplinary team and partners Safety, Quality & Environment Ensures compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management procedures and controls within the feasibility analysis function to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/services and a responsible environmental attitude Continuous Development Continuously improves and promotes new technologies that would increase productivity and reduce cost Helps in conducting technical research to be utilised for field development, exploration and drilling plans. Recommends subsequent actions to top management Minimum Educational, Technical Qualifications/Certifications Required Master Degree in Petroleum Engineering or an equivalent discipline with sound technical knowledge of Drilling, Geology, Geophysics and Operations 10+ years of professional experience within the Reservoir Engineering discipline Preferred to have fractured carbonates and tight oil reservoir experience, working experience in Kurdistan / Iraq / or Middle East will be a benefit #J-18808-Ljbffr
