About the job Senior Quantity Surveyor (Hotel / F&B Project)JOB POSTED DATE - 31st July 2024REQUIRED CANDIDATE:Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site role as a Senior Quantity Surveyor for hospitality (hotel/F&B) largescale fit out, joinery and refurbishment projects and contracts located in Dubai, United ArabEmirates. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for cost control, BOQ (Bill ofQuantities), cost management, cost planning, and cost reporting. The day-to-day tasks includeevaluating project costs, preparing estimates and budgets, conducting site visits, analysingconstruction drawings and specifications, and ensuring compliance with contractual termsand conditions.Qualifications
Bachelors degree in civil engineering or quantity surveying
Minimum 8 years experience in Interior Fit-out, joinery or refurbishment projects
Experience in Hospitality (Hotels and F&B) projects is a must
Proven ability to access necessary market information to obtain costs / price
Understanding of BOQ methodologies and build ups in a project environment for fit
out & refurbishment of hospitality
RICS approval as Quantity Surveyor is preferred
UAE Driving License with Car is a must
Skills
Knowledge of pre and post contract administration.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Good IT skills and the ability to learn how to use specialist software, i.e. Plan Swift,
AutoCAD and MS Excel.
Ability to communicate logically and clearly with management and staff.
Must have a clear understanding of, and ability to work with, construction contract
documents, drawings and specifications.
Strong analytical capabilities and the ability to work independently.

Duties & Responsibilities
Preparing approximate cost estimates in the very early stages of the formulation of a
building project and giving advice on the alternative materials and components andtypes of construction and the financial aspects of contracts.
Develop initial project budget and agree detailed cost plan with the Senior
management for agreement with the professional team.
Cost planning and value analysis during the design stage of a project to ensure that
Clients obtain the best value for their money. By use of life cycle costing techniques,the QS ensures realistic and uniform distribution of costs to the various buildingelements.
Advise on product selection, specifications and assist with value engineering exercises
Examining tenders and priced bills of quantities and reporting his findings.
Negotiating rates with contractors on negotiated contracts and dealing with cost[1]reimbursement contracts, design and build, management, and other forms of
contracts.
Preparing final account on completion of contract works.
Advising on the financial and contractual aspects of the contractors claims.
Giving cost advice and information at all stages of the contract and preparing cost
analysis and cost reports to Clients.
Coordinate with site construction team and Engineering department to finalize and
certify the actual physical work done at site to facilitate subcontractor payments.
Evaluations of Site Instruction with Planned cost in comparison to original approved
contract scope of work and identify difference in scope of works and subsequentlyfinalize the site instruction with Planned cost and submit to through by Cost controland get approval by Company.
Assessment of change work Orders and Variations in line with the Contract of
Agreement.
Review and Assessment of complex and high-risk scope of works for possible Value
Engineering.
Evaluation of Material Specification and Prices of Vendors /Subcontractors against
Project Specifications.
Monitoring projects with respect to budgeted cost, demand forecasts, time over-runs
to ensure timely execution of projects.
Coordinate technical and Commercial meetings with stakeholders.
Conduct Joint survey by both Parties going to site visit, and check to actual work done
