Senior Quantity Surveyor – Electrical

Job Description

The Senior Quantity Surveyor (Electrical) will be responsible for managing and controlling the costs, budgets, contracts, and procurement related to electrical works within construction and engineering projects. This role will involve ensuring that electrical elements of projects are completed on time and within budget, while adhering to safety, quality, and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cost Estimation and Budgeting for Electrical Works: Prepare detailed electrical cost estimates, including materials, labor, and overheads for electrical systems (e.g., lighting, power distribution, fire alarm systems, etc.).

2. Tendering and Procurement: Manage the preparation of tender documents for electrical contractors and suppliers.Evaluate and assess subcontractor bids for electrical works, ensuring they meet specifications and budget requirements.Negotiate contracts with electrical subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and compliance with project specifications.

3. Contract Administration for Electrical Works: Administer and monitor the execution of electrical contracts and agreements.Prepare and issue contract documentation, such as variations, change orders, and claims related to electrical works.Ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of contracts, managing scope changes and ensuring value for money.

4. Cost Control and Financial Reporting: Track, manage, and report on electrical works costs throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring control of budgets and margins.

5. Value Engineering: Identify opportunities for value engineering within electrical systems and methods, ensuring that quality standards are maintained while reducing unnecessary costs.Work with the design and engineering teams to suggest cost-effective electrical design alternatives.

6. Client Liaison and Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for the client on all electrical-related cost matters.Maintain effective communication with clients and stakeholders, providing them with up-to-date information on cost, budget status, and progress of electrical works. Address any concerns or queries raised by clients or project team members regarding electrical costs or contracts.

7. Site Visits and Coordination: Regularly visit construction sites to assess progress and ensure that electrical work is being completed to specification and budget.Liaise with site teams to monitor the progress of electrical installations and ensure proper documentation of any changes or variations.Ensure that work is being carried out in compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards.

• Educational Qualification: B.Tech/BE (Electrical) / Degree in Quantity Surveying
• 8+ years of MEP Quantity Surveying (GCC/ UAE)experience, especially Electrical, ELV, Fire Alarm, and Fire Fighting.
• Strong understanding of MEP systems and construction processes.
• Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, PlanSwift).
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: AED8,000.00 - AED15,000.00 per month
