Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor (QS) with a strong background in interior fit-out and joinery projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing all cost-related aspects of interior fit-out and joinery works from inception to completion. This role requires a deep understanding of the technical and commercial aspects of interior construction, as well as the ability to manage budgets, timelines, and client relationships effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Management & Estimation:

Prepare accurate cost estimates for interior fit-out and joinery projects, ensuring alignment with the project scope and client requirements. Develop detailed cost plans and budgets, monitoring and controlling costs throughout the project lifecycle. Conduct cost analysis and provide recommendations to ensure cost-effective solutions while maintaining high-quality standards.

Tendering & Procurement:

Lead the tendering process for interior fit-out and joinery projects, including preparation of tender documents and review of contractor bids. Negotiate and manage contracts with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors, ensuring compliance with project specifications and terms.

Contract Administration:

Administer contracts, ensuring adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and budgets. Manage variations, claims, and disputes, ensuring all changes are accurately priced and documented. Prepare progress reports and cost reports, presenting updates to clients and senior management.

Site Coordination & Cost Control:

Regularly visit project sites to monitor progress, assess work quality, and ensure cost control measures are in place. Identify potential risks and proactively mitigate cost overruns and schedule delays. Collaborate with project managers, architects, and design teams to resolve issues and ensure smooth project execution.

Client Relationship Management:

Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring client satisfaction through transparent communication and the effective management of costs. Advise clients on cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions.

Team Leadership:

Lead, mentor, and develop junior quantity surveyors and project assistants, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment. Ensure adherence to company processes, standards, and best practices within the quantity surveying team.

Skills & Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Chartered status (MRICS) or equivalent professional qualification preferred.

Experience:

Minimum 5-8 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a focus on interior fit-out and joinery projects. Proven track record in managing budgets, costs, and contracts for complex interior fit-out works. Experience working with high-end residential, commercial, or hospitality projects is a plus.
