Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is recruiting for a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team in Qatar for a permanent/staff role. This is a key role within the Wood Doha office delivering across EPC, PMC, FEED, Pre-FEED, Concept and Feasibility scopes of work. In this role, you will be responsible for the execution of project work in accordance with the project execution plan, including Wood and/or Project Procedures on Safety and Quality Control within the man-hour, cost and the project schedule targets.
Reflecting the market focus for the office in both brownfield and green field opportunities, multi-skilled personnel are sought, in particular those with experience in: Onshore Oil and Gas Offshore Oil and Gas Responsibilities
Responsible for implementation of Quality Management System requirements as directed by the Quality Assurance Manager and ensuring the requirements of ISO 9001: are implemented across Home Office Engineering activities in FEED, EPC and PMC projects Act as mentor to Quality Engineers in conjunction with the Manager, Quality Assurance, including assessment of capabilities and identification of areas for development and training Provide advice and guidance to Project Management personnel on the application of the Quality Management System in relation to Project Execution activities Review QA requirements during preparation of proposals, as directed by the Manager, Quality Assurance, to assess resourcing/manpower budgets and scheduling of QA activities Fulfil the role of Project QA Manager when assigned Preparation, implementation and maintenance of project quality plans, ensuring that all contractual quality requirements are effectively communicated and met Reviewing of project specific procedures and documents to verify that they comply with the contractual requirements Monitoring of the application of these procedures to verify compliance with the contract. Preparing a program of QA and Audits QA Audits will focus on the effective application of the quality management system and compliance to the project quality plan Reviewing all audit reports to verify that the quality management systems are implemented and are compliant with the Contract Skills / Qualifications
Degreee in Engineering or similar equivalent Minimum 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry Demonstrable qualification for planning, conducting and reporting internal audits from a recognized external body is preferable Significant industrial experience is required Good recent experience in a similar position Experience in PMC/EPC organizations in the field of Refinery/Petrochemicals In-depth knowledge of working to the requirements of ISO 9001 Working knowledge of standards such as ISO 14001 and ISO 29001 is desirable Good team player Good communicator with excellent influencing, verbal and written skills. Self-motivated and prepared to take the initiative. Good project management skills and good commercial awareness. Competent in Microsoft office applications
Applicants are required to: Be available for work in Doha, Qatar from July/August 2023 Be a self-motivated, proactive individual with high achievement drive and initiative, excellent verbal and written communication skills and good organisational awareness Confidently deliver assigned scopes of work independently / remotely from technical leadership personnel, with minimal guidance and direction Take accountability for own targets and supervise engineering and design resource as required to meet project expectations Have demonstrable experience of working within a small project office, supporting cross discipline activities beyond their core discipline Be willing and able to represent Wood in both onshore and offshore surveys, holding relevant certification or willing to undertake suitable training such as BOSIET and H2S Awareness.
